THE HEART-STOPPING SEASON FINALE — Everyone’s lives are in danger as Ra’s al Ghul (guest star Matt Nable) puts forth his final plan. Oliver/Al Sah-him (Stephen Amell) must decide if he’s strong enough to take on this new role and what it will mean for everyone on Team Arrow, and his soul. John Behring directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Marc Guggenheim & Jake Coburn (#323).

In the aftermath of this victory, Season 3 opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen — not as long as the city needs The Arrow.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Paul Blackthorne as Captain Quentin Lance
John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer
Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom
Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro/Sarab
Rila Fukushima as Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana
Katrina Law as Nyssa al Ghul
Matt Nable as Ra's al Ghul

A very bad writer wasted a good show which was starting to feel great. As a Green Arrow fan im pretty disappointed but i will still watch it as long as it airs.

Yup- that's how much the writing sucked... They needed The Flash to save everyone. Psht.

These crossovers seem a little unnatural to me, with Arrow's current situation. I'll wait and see, though.

I really enjoyed Katana in action in her full costume. By the way, I think that Arrow's writers have been forgotten about Wildcat.

Ugh The Olicity Diaries. I want to start a petition to remove The Flash from the Olicity Diaries universe.

For some reason this

made me think of this

I had an illustrated version of Oliver Twist as a kid (not this one). Those pictures scared the shit out of me.

There are crossovers, and then there's exploiting a shared universe just to make life easier for the writers. "Oliver what do we do?" "Idk, call Barry?" Haha but hey it makes sense: Oliver can't take on the league in any incarnation

I see how Barry is a help against Ra's and the League. Now when I think about Oliver and the Reverse Flash on the other hand...

So call Barry whenever there is a problem??? Gotcha. And the title of this episode kind of gives everything away. "My name is Oliver queen not al-sah-him and I love my friends blah blah" I'm a green arrow fan, this season has dissapointed me. Writers can't develop a good enough solution so they say bring flash in. As a GA fan, Jeff Lemire's green arrow run with dc has better writing

Lol Flash will just be in long enough to free the team and drop them off in Starling

And thus, EVERY storyline that's coming down the road on Arrow has been ruined by the simple fact that Ollie can always just call Barry to save the day for him.

Good God.

I mean, REALLY, guys... Just because the Flash can swoop in and defeat the League of Assassins single-handedly, that doesn't make it a satisfying way to end the story. And I can see that the actual climax is going to involve Ollie facing off against Ra's alone, but that just makes it even WORSE-- because if Barry can take down the whole League of Assassins without breaking a sweat, why not take out Ra's TOO and save Ollie from potentially meeting his end in a final confrontation?

THIS is why I've been opposed to conjoined entertainment universes for a long time now-- after a while, it just gets ridiculous that Captain America never called Thor in to fight S.H.I.E.L.D./Hydra, or that a Batman is even NECESSARY in a world with a Superman, Flash, Cyborg, Wonder Woman and the like.

Well, anyway, I still like Arrow, despite their bungling of the reveal from the last episode, and I'm hoping this finale can redeem this wishy-washy season to SOME extent... even if the Flash is seriously stepping on the show's storytelling credibility at this point. Sure, they did write themselves into a corner with Ollie stuck as the Demon's Heir... but that's no excuse to pull a deus ex machina and wipe out the League like it was nothing.

I'd rather it be a semi-reformed Slade, than Barry. Even if Ollie and Slade are never full bros again, it'd be nice to see that rekindled a bit.

Can someone explain to me the fact that the writers DARE use Barry to help save Oliver's friends, yet they're still ignoring that he can just run around Ra's and the entire League and just chain them up, literally? The whole season can be over in 2 minutes.

this show blows. Any time there's a crossover, it's because Flash being on Arrow gives the show higher ratings. The Flash is a stand alone success and shits on Arrow. Cancel arrow and just make Oliver a recurring guest on The Flash.

I still like Arrow even though this season have not been as good as the first 2. Leave the second rate Balck Canary where she is cause she should not even be able to handle League of Assassin members still at this point. I hope they get back to the core 3 members. But, at least it took chances and actually have surprises in it unlike other shows and cbm.

@gmoney0505 Really?! If anyone should not be there it is Felicity she has had no training at all. It is the Olicity Fan service that has ruined this show. At least they show Black Canary getting her butt kicked for being a newbie. I like seeing her not giving up and keep trying. She is a lot like Kick Ass in that way.

Katie Cassidy is forever ruined in my mind. She will only ever be a CW actor. Her notable movies are the new Freddy Kruger movie and she died and the first Taken movie, which oh she died. She is hot, but that's about it. Her best role was when she played Ruby. Bottom line is, I'd do her, but wouldn't cast her for anything important.
