VIDEO GAMES: Marvel Announces AVENGERS ACADEMY Game For 2016
While DC is behind & Marvel is ahead in movies, in the gaming world it's the opposite with DC ahead & Marvel behind. Now Marvel has announced Avengers Academy game with the same title as their comic series. Is this the game Marvel fans were hoping for?
Next year when it comes to movies, Marvel is loaded with them. Marvel Studios will bring out Doctor Strange & Captain America: Civil War which will feature Spider-Man and Black Panther's introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus we will have 3 X-Men films in Channing Tatum's Gambit, Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool, and Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. One would think that it would be smart to release a video game next year to cash in with all the Marvel movies and events right? Well that's exactly what Disney may be doing with “Marvel Avengers Academy". “Marvel Avengers Academy” is be a free mobile game in which you help teenage versions of Captain America (which sorta makes no sense being he was a teenager in the 1930s and was frozen at 22), Black Widow, Iron Man and Hawkeye navigate the trials of superhero school.
The game is developed by game studio TinyCo in partnership with Marvel Entertainment. It will be released in the first quarter of 2016 as a free-to-download game with in-app purchases for Apple iOS and Android devices. In the simulation game, players to build their dream superhero school and guide the characters as complex young adults grappling with newly emerging powers and social lives. The teen Avengers will experience numerous aspects of campus drama — going on dates, confronting rival cliques and navigating the social ups and downs of their character’s lives. But likely won't involve any parties which we've all done as college kids.
Marvel Games creative director, Bill Rosemann, stated “Whether it’s visiting Stark Tower or going on a date with Loki, players will soon be debating what’s the coolest experience of ‘Marvel Avengers Academy,’ but for this lifelong fan, it’s seeing world-famous superheroes like Captain America, Black Widow and Iron Man reimagined into charmingly fresh but instantly recognizable young-adult forms,”. Each hero or villain can be suited with unique abilities and exclusive outfits. Players will be able to build and upgrade their campuses’ training facilities, dorms, labs, classrooms, sports stadiums and more. Here are some screenshots and a trailer for the game.
That's cool right? So what are your thoughts? Is this the Marvel game you've been waiting for? Are you completely disappointed in this game and were expecting something else? Like a console game and not another free to play micro transaction mobile game? Whatever your thoughts comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...
