I don't know if you read MarkyMarc's article about Jim Lee's redesign of the Wonder Woman out fit and a revamped story line starting in issue #600. If you have not then you can check that out HERE! Yes as far as I can tell Markymarc was the first to post this article.
I have read a few headlines saying something to the tune of "Wonder Woman Gets A New Costume for a Movie?" I have to say I certainly hope not and let me tell you why. First you should see the pic of the new costume:
It's all wrong, this looks like Jubilee got stuck in a worm hole trying to crossover into the DC universe and then somehow got mistaken for being Wonder Woman! I really admire Jim Lee's work, but not this time. I realize this was something he was told to do but I think DC is heading down the wrong direction turning Wonder Woman into Wonder Girl, and not in a good way.
Wonder Woman is iconic! She is right up there with Superman in the DC Universe and on top of that her original costume is a perfect nod to the Flag of the United States of America!
Notice the good ol Red, White, and Blue painted beautifully on Wonder Woman's body. At this point no one is quite sure what the underlying reasons are for DC's revamp. One thing is for sure that the redesign is rubbing the fans the wrong way. Nikki Finke is pissed over at Deadline, you can check her take on the subject
Here!
Nikki seems to be upset that male writers and male artist's are taking liberties that female writers and artists wouldn't do. That's an entirely different article all together. What I am not cool with is the possibility that DC is changing Wonder Woman's outfit and back story to fit in with current times, that will be easier to transition to the big screen. It's like Barakapool all over again. Why fix what aint broke!!!
Ooh and keep Lauren Shuler Donner as far away from a Wonder Woman movie project as possible. We do not need another redesigned Donnerized movie version (the first Donnerized movie version would be, yep, LEEE you guessed it, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) of Wonder Woman!
Be sure to click on the pic to get to the ComicBookHotties Linda Carter Gallery to see how she portrayed the iconic Wonder Woman!
