Bendis went on to explain why he believes the Thor movie will the biggest surprise of Marvel’s upcoming film slate:

“Thor is an extravaganza,” said Bendis. “The artwork is unbelievable… They flew us all here because Kenneth Branagh wanted to tell us his Thor movie and he pitched it live. It was Shakespearean and went on for hours.”

“He wasn’t high selling it,” continued Bendis. “He is an actor and he just sold it. I looked to Joe [Quesada] and went ‘Isn’t this fun?’ When he was done, we were like ‘Great! You should do that!’”

	I still think they need to be careful with how they handle Thor - if it ends up too much like Lord of the Rings in both setting and running time its going to put offa HUGE amount of the general movie going audience. I just hope that Brannagh remembers that this is a superhero movie and not just an Asgardian LOTR! 	The running time for a movie should never matter as long as the film holds its audience. Thor should be at least two hours and intertwine all elements of the characters. I as well as others would have no interest in an hour and a half Thor movie, or any other superhero driven movie. Length plus quality is a great thing, and no penis jokes please. 	Branagh knows his stuff when it comes to filmmaking. This could be the first really epic comic book film, and with Branagh as a directorial draw, could get the critics behind the Thor movies (and you can bet there will be more). What will be nice is that when Avengers comes to the screen finally, the audiences will be anxiously anticipating each and every major character walk-on, and not just we die-hard True Believer comic book fans.
