Hot on the heels of news that Robert Downey Jr. will be joining Captain America 3 to finally kick off the Civil War storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Badass Digest has dropped some additional details as well as major spoilers for next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron. You've been warned! In addition to hearing that Civil War and Fallen Son are being considered for the Marvel threequel's subtitle, the site reports that Downey's scenes will require 30 or 40 days of filming. As for Age of Ultron, there will apparently be lots of destruction and a  huge fallout. So huge in fact  Tony Stark will be retiring not only from the team, but possibly also from being Iron Man, all due to him feeling responsible for Ultron's actions. Furthermore, it was previously revealed that Steve Rogers will be leading a new team by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Badass Digest now reveals hearing that "the team is Falcon, War Machine, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow, as well as probably The Vision... [but] I have been told Black Widow will not be much of a presence in Cap 3." However, despite Age of Ultron being in post-production for months now, the scene in which Cap's new team is revealed hasn't filmed yet, so that roster could change.

Moving along, the site insists that Chris Evans' Super Soldier will NOT be in Avengers 3 because "the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be in a tough, dark place, with the heroes scattered and defeated" by the end of Captain America 3, and that will carry over to Avengers 3. Will Cap meet his end in his fifth outing? Possibly, especially if Fallen Son really is the Cap 3 subtitle. Anyhow, Badass Digest goes on to drop one last bombshell: Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo are apparently in talks to continue and flesh out their Civil War storyline in Avengers 3 by taking over directing duties from Joss Whedon. And given they are in good with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the sibling duo is also in talks to helm the fourth Avengers movie, which the mad titan Thanos may or may not be the main villain of. What do you think?

Captain America 3 releases on May 6, 2016, while Avengers 3 is expected to hit in 2018.

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015.

Reading the Badass Digest article right now. There's SO many additional scoops in there, it's going to take DCMF a little while to get them all down haha. I've never been more excited about the MCU than I am right now. Holy crap.

I know, me either Saurons, this is like X-mas came early...now I'm one who thinks the MCU is more than fine without Spidey, but if that bomb drops, wow, that would be kinda crazy on top of craziness!

batz, That would pretty much be the cherry on top haha.

But honestly, after this...can anyone put together a convincing argument that the MCU even needs Spidey? At all? I totally agree with you. As far as I'm concerned, Marvel has the complete and total upper hand in ANY negotiations that might happen between Sony. Seriously, the two studios are at complete opposite ends of the universe-building game, it's not even funny.

Now I feel like everything is bullsh*t.

Never can all this greatness be true. It's like they are reading my mind on what I want in the MCU.

Yeah, I think the news itself could break the internet, ha, ha...I'm fine with the X-Men, Spidey verse with different studios, get characters like Ant-Man, Strange, etc. in the MCU that way, but a borrow from Sony would be kinda epic...

one thing that bugs me about the whole civil war thing, is that there's barely any characters with secret identities. so wouldn't that go against the act that Tony supports? like i get that Daredevil is currently in development, but there's not enough characters established to begin Civil War in my opinion. i'm just hoping it all works out somehow.
