Claudia Kim's Mystery AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Character Gets A Surname
She's been known as the mystery woman seen hanging out with the Avengers in the Age of Ultron trailer, but Korean actress Claudia Kim's character now has an identity. Check it out after the jump!
It was first reported back in March that Claudia Kim (also Kim Soo Hyun) had been handpicked by writer/director Joss Whedon for a "substantial" supporting role somewhere in the much-anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron. And the Korean actress had even revealed that she'd be playing a doctor/scientist and an old friend of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Regarding her character's identity, should it be from Marvel Comics, speculation has run rampant especially after Kim was seen in the Age of Ultron trailer hanging out with Earth's mightiest heroes during their downtime. Well, the mystery is no more as Disney confirms (via Collider) that she is Dr. Cho.
It may not be a huge reveal, but at least we now know Claudia Kim is not playing a major character from the comics... or do we? Disney failed to offer Dr. Cho's first name in the caption of the new Avengers: Age of Ultron image released yesterday (below), but there is one notable character from the Marvel lore that shares that surname. Amadeus Cho has appeared mostly as a supporting character in comics featuring the Avengers, especially Hulk and Hercules. However, given he's male, and is often portrayed as a teen prodigy, the common surname may just be a coincidence as opposed to a direct reference to that Marvel character; maybe. Anyhow, we still don't know exactly how "substantial" Claudia Kim's Dr. Cho role will be, but it now seems likely that she's one of the four prominent female roles that Joss Whedon referred to back in July. Plus, it was previously reported that Claudia Kim would take part in the action once the villainous Ultron and his big plan to wipe out humanity takes to South Korea in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
