Don Cheadle Comments On Returning As 'Rhodey' In AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Don Cheadle fails to address whether or not he'll suit up in either the Iron Patriot or War Machine armor, but the Iron Man 3 actor does talk about reuniting with Robert Downey Jr. and the ensemble cast.

During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Don Cheadle talked about the new season of House of Lies as well as his third outing as James "Rhodey" Rhodes in Avengers: Age of Ultron. "After Iron Man [2], Robert and I struck up a friendship and we're both very busy, but we get to see each other time and again, and now this new Avengers crew, some of them I know from other things, but getting to do these movies and traveling around the world, it doesn't suck," he said. Some toys and behind-the-scenes footage have indicated that Rhodey will be suiting up to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the fight against Ultron, while some rumors have suggested he might become a new member of the team by the end of the movie. However, that, and whether or not he'll ditch the Iron Patriot armor for the War Machine, remains to be seen. What do you think?

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

Can't wait to see him with the Avengers for the first time on the big screen!! This movie is so huge I'm actually having a hard time figuring out how huge it is. That may not make any sense at all.

I still think Terrence Howard was slightly better in the Rhodey role...but Cheadle does a bang-up job. Don't die Donny...

@MercwithMouth

I think Terrence was paired better with RDJ, but Don Cheadle is more likeable (despite his weird lines).

Terrence Howard was a better Rhodey than this clown, at least Howard put RDJ in his place. All Cheadle does is stand around and do nothing... hell at the end of IM3 he didn't even get to suit up.

sounds like a bigger role than just a cameo. he seems to have a big part and is probably an avenger

I hope he suits up as War Machine and kicks a shit ton of ass (and doesn't die). If there is one character in the MCU that could be a hell of a lot more popular than thye currently are, it's War Machine.

I have a feeling that Rhodey will be one that will bite the dust.

I like Cheadle, but I think Howard had a better chemistry with RDJ. It was just so natural and fun to watch on the screen, I just hope Cheadle gets more screen time to develop his Rhodey. The guy barely got any development in the two Iron Man movies he was in.

@PaddingtonBear7

Well ScarJo filmed AOU during her pregnancy, I'm sure they can work out something with Cobie too. And anyway, I wouldn't want her to die without at least seeing her more bitchy side.

A great dynamic for Civil War would be if WM sides with Cap against Tony. Going back to the 1st Iron Man Rhodey has been Tonys moral compass. I would love to see them fully on opposite sides.

this movie will either cause everyone to jizz (Most likely given the reaction to GOTG), or it will disappoint and cause half of the CBM fanbase to question their love
