New AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Scene Details Tease 'Pre-Credits' Battle And Distraught Heroes

It was first reported on very early last year, but the latest issue of Empire magazine confirms that the very beginning of Avengers: Age of Ultron will see the team assemble and pay a surprise visit to the villainous Hydra operative Baron von Strucker (played by Thomas Kretschmann), who is hiding out in an East European castle and holding Loki's scepter. Speaking about the sequence, director Joss Whedon describes it as a "pre-credits Bondian blow-out." The magazine goes on to describe the aftermath of that sequence as it was being filmed, when the team is flying in Tony Stark's new quinjet, which is said to be more spacious than the S.H.I.E.L.D.models, en route to the Avengers Tower in NYC. The full description can be read below as it contains  dialogue and potential spoilers.
As Stark is flying the ship, [Robert] Downey Jr. goes and sits in the pilot's seat. [Jeremy] Renner lies down on a table in the middle of the jet and clutches his stomach while a fake drip is attached to his arm. It's clear that, whatever went down at von Strucker's, it has left the Avengers' ace archer in considerable distress. As the dialogue plays out, it becomes clear that [Mark Ruffalo's] Bruce Banner has Hulked out, or what he calls a "code green," during the assault on Strucker's fortress, and is deeply troubled by it. [Scarlett Johansson's] Natasha tries to reassure him - "If you hadn't been there, there would have been double the casualties." Banner grimaces, and replies with, "You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear." Seeking back-up, Natasha turns to[Chris Hemsworth's] Norse god. "Thor, report on the Hulk?" she asks. Hemsworth immediately lights up and lets rip with a rousing tribute to all the violence unleashed by the Hulk, filled with words like "screams" and "victims" and "whimpering". Seeing that it has the opposite effect to that intended on Banner, the God of Thunder turns God of Blunter, stammering and stumbling, digging himself deeper into a hole.

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

LOVING what I'm hearing: Comparing the assault on Strucker to a classic Bond action set piece, and the dialogue sounds even more glorious than the first Avengers movie.

Say what you want about Vision or the Twins or Ultron...I'm most looking forward to seeing the group just interact with each other. Thor trying to cheer Banner up with the status report of the mayhem he caused (but having the opposite effect), Natasha and Banner's interactions as their relationship becomes more clear...ugh, I can't wait.

That's why I've stopped myself from watching the official clip of the party scene. A bunch of the Avengers just chilling out and having fun together? I want to save that sucker for the big screen!

@Strider123 Agreed. And I also promised myself I wouldn't look at any more Avengers-related stuff after that first teaser...and that didn't happen, so my willpower's not quite as strong as I would hope haha.
