Ryan Reynolds Whips Out (And Names) His Katana Swords In Newest DEADPOOL Set Photos

While an exec producer declares whether or not this action sequence recreates the test footage, the newest batch of Deadpool pics show Reynolds costumed and using the merc's trademark weapon(s)!

Yesterday was the fourth day of filming for Deadpool on the closed Georgia Viaduct in Vancouver, and you'll never guess who was on set... Ryan Reynolds, in full costume! Okay, so we might have seen the Canadian actor suited up on set almost everyday this week. However, the latest photos from Vancity Buzz show the Merc With A Mouth retiring his guns, and finally using his katana swords which he's named Bea Arthur (see), according to a recent tweet from Reynolds himself.

Meanwhile, in between takes, local news station CBC spoke with one of the executive producers on Deadpool named Aditya Sood, who had discussed the "critical" sequence that has closed the busy Georgia Viaduct for nearly two weeks, and also how it relates to the leaked test footage. "There's a sequence in our film that requires us to be on a highway," explained Sood. "So, this was the best location that we could find in Vancouver, and the city was gracious enough to to allow us to shoot here." The exec then said he could not confirm nor deny that this particular sequence is a recreation of the test footage that leaked (and greenlit Deadpool) earlier this year, but "I can tell you one thing, it is not the exact scene that you might have seen," he said. What do you think?

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Directed by Tim Miller, while starring Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), T.J. Miller (Weasel), with Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand (Ellie Phimister), the much-hyped Deadpool is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.

"It seems they really don't care if pics are being leaked lol The embrace the buzz!"

This is going to end up being a downside later on, for example when they reveal who the main villain is ages before the release or we get pictures that spoil crucial aspects of the film.

That suit is amazing. Second best comic accurate adaptation. Anyone else think he has a flip phone in his utility belt with some chimichangas and candy?

@Scarilian Dude, you mentioned me twelve times in this thread! LOL

I was thinking the same, because I don't want to watch the whole movie through set pics! LOL But it could just be that they are filming in a very public place so lots of photographers are taking lots of pictures per day.

This is just awesome!! And yes, Bea and Arthur are nice names. :-) lol

@BravoBoss

Everybody has just read the leaked plot, which of course they may have changed a bit, but I don't think they care too much about it... And well thats Deadpool, so what could we expect?

@nighteagle I wouldn't put it past them to start with this scene. It was already shown in the test footage and it would be a great opening.
@slickrickdeaigns You already know he's going to break the fourth wall and make a comment about how Ryan Rynolds is lol Ot would be funny af if they make a comment on Green Lantern . If they did I'm sure they would simply make fun of the movie and not DC like most trolls would want
Cruel

@Jollem

Stop trolling dude.
Why would someone want it to go to Disney if it would give us a less faithful adaption that's PG13.

Only a fanboy that doesn't really care for the character but for the brand behind it would want that.
Your jokes are getting less and less funny.
TheGmo
TheGmo - 4/10/2015, 6:54 AM
I think one of the reasons there are too many pictures of the movie its becauses is Fricking Deadpool, it would be impossible not seeing that suit. The Avengers is mostly green screen so they dont need so much to be recording in street.

Also awesome. And i think its just one scene.
slickrickdesigns
slickrickdesigns - 4/10/2015, 6:58 AM
@CIAGuy

Technically Deadpool could be put out under Marvel Knights and could be rated R if Marvel did it.
Not saying I want Fox to stop this, I actually think this will be Fox's best CBM they've ever done from what I've seen so far.
UltimateCookie
UltimateCookie - 4/10/2015, 6:59 AM
@Jollem Not saying it wouldn't be good with Disney and it doesn't have to be Rated R but the fans wanted R mm Fox delivered.
