To no one's surprise, Avengers: Age of Ultron is another smash hit for Disney and Marvel Studios. And as the Joss Whedon-directed sequel continues its success at the box office, conceptual artwork is surfacing on Tumblr from the "Art of the movie" book, which is currently available on Amazon. Revealing some great early costume designs for the Scarlet Witch (with her trademark headband), as well as for Quicksilver, Ultron, and the original team, some concept art can be seen below.

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

Ultron looked awful in the movie, I would've preferred any of those designs up there over the one we actually got.

So, in other words both could have look a lot better.

That Cap concept art looks sweet. I kinda wish they had gone for the material of the stealth suit instead of the puffier material in AOU. Marvel has some of the best concept artists.

@Maniac I think that's best. But it was probably too X-Men for them.

@KidGoku I was just gonna say that, beat me to it! I saw reference material nods to Ellen Page and Jennifer Connely too.

I actually thought Ultron's design in the movie was AWESOME! But I would be a fool if I didn't say every one of these designs are better!

Just bear in mind, Ultron's mouth still would've moved had they used those designs. Imagine how shit that would've looked. It would've looked like a bloody Thundertank.

On second thought, the first five Ultron's are better, the rest.. not so much.

Damning those Ultron pieces are amazing. I know Whedon wanted Ultron to be able to emote, but I prefer cold, calculating Ultron with the open mouth design.

The final version of Wanda and Pietro in the film made sense tho. They were some broken kids not superheroes.

Does anyone have a still from her costume at the end? Falcon's too if possible
