Hot of the heels of the (low-quality) reveal of the teaser trailer for the superhero ensemble, the folks from Dis Fan Review are suggesting that 'Pepper Potts' actress Gwyneth Paltrow, from both Iron Man films, will surely be reprising the role in next year's The Avengers. While the actress hinted at the possibility months ago, the site says:


According to our sources the famous Hollywood leading lady made an extremely quiet entrance into New Mexico on Monday or Tuesday and was said to have definitely departed by Thursday, making an equally quiet exit. A source close to the production say's that somewhere in that time frame Mrs. [Paltrow] spent two entire days shooting her appearance in the film. Our sources also indicate that her part in the film is more than just a glorified cameo. However, our sources were unwilling to reveal much more than that.

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

It makes sense starks girlfriend having a cameo but where the hell is betty and especially her dad Thunderbolt Ross, theres been no mention of william hurt what so ever, I mean Tony did meet up with him about the "team"

I agree man, they should at least mention why betty isn't in the avengers, n ross. i mean nothin ever perfect, but they should have liv tyler make a camao as well with peppor potts, well actually, they should have betty as a regular star, whats up with that, oh and where the hell is hank pym, n the wasp? well idk its not a perfect movie but it'll be just as great.

I totally agree with you 100%. Even if Gen & Betty Ross just make a 5 minute cameo (Betty to have longer than 5 min.), that would justify Tony Stark meeting Ross at end of TIH.

My big fear with this movie is that I hope they make each of the main avengers have equal roles. Unlike X-men (where it was mostly centered around Wolverine) If they take the X-men route it might be about Iron Man mostly since as of right now he's the most popular with the general Audience. Yeah it worked pretty well for X-men, but come on. Let them each have equal importance.

good. It wouldn't make sense with out her. She has been involved a lot with S.H.E.I.L.D. and she is Tony's girl...... though, black widow is in this so.........
Also I agree with hulk2008 and hellsing. There should be a scene with betty and ross.
ESPECIALLY ROSS because it would further justify why tony met with him.

Yep, Portman needs to be brought back too. They're a big part of their respective movies so it'd feel weird and empty not to have them in the movie.

i expect Jane foster to show up because she has to be the reason Thor shows up in earth with the bifrost bridge gone and Betty ross i would like to see show up but idk how to get her in the mix of the movie and yes thunderbolt where is he,i think rhodey could cameo too

I say leave the girlfriends out.We have Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Widow, Banner/Hulk, Fury, Hawkeye, Hill, Coulson and Loki and only 2 hours to tell their story.We don't need these other characters.Let their story play out in the solo movies.

I mean,when I'm reading an Avengers comic, unless a wife/girlfriend is part of the team, I don't expect them to actually show up in the issues.So, why would they be in the movie?

I BET, AND OF COURSE MARVEL WILL HAVE PLANNED IT..EVERY SEPERATE ENTERPRISE LIKE SAY HULK MOVIE OR THOR MOVIE OR CAP MOVIE ALL SHOT EASTER EGGS AND CAMEO STUFF AND MAYBE SHOT SCENES WITH SPECIFIC ACTORS TO MAYBE MAKE A SECRET "SOUP" INGREDIENT TO SPLICE AND INCLUDE IN THE AVENGERS MOVIE..THAT WAY SPECIFIC ACTORS CAN SAY.."NO I WON'T BE DOING ANY SHOOTS FOR AVENGERS" BUT THEY COULD HAVE SHOT TAKES IN THEIR OWN SEPERATE FILMS TO COMBINE IN THE AVENGERS MOVIE..ITS A BIG PRODUCTION..INCLUDING ALL THE WORLDS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL HERO IS A HUGE UNDERTAKING..EACH DIRECTOR OF EACH FILM KNOWS AND CONSULTS WITH MARVEL AND KNOW THE PLAN I..IF EACH MOVIE FRANCHISE IS A FINGER, AVENGERS IS THE FIST.
