With only a few weeks of filming remaining for Marvel's
The Avengers, in Cleveland, Ohio, the city's local
Plain Dealer has offered a revealing update for today's shoot, as well filming occurring in the coming days. Check it all out below.
By the end of the week, Public Square (pictured right) outside Tower City will be turned into Stuttgart, Germany, for the filming of "The Avengers." Marvel Studios crew members Wednesday started the transformation, which should be done by Saturday. Nighttime filming begins on Monday, and will last at least a week. Marvel is reluctant to talk about which stars will be on the Public Square set.
And regarding which stars from the superhero ensemble may be spotted in the coming days, filming scenes on the location, the site suggests:
Scarlett Johansson is expected to be in Cleveland for filming late next week. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth is likely to be on the East Ninth Street set on Friday. Samuel L. Jackson has reportedly filmed all his scenes in Cleveland and Sandusky and already may have left town. Marvel declined to comment on whether Robert Downey Jr. will be here.
Now, on scenes filmed today, one of which was
captured depicting 'Captain America' actor Chris Evans staging a fight sequence in an alley, the site reveals:
Chris Evans was filming a hush-hush scene in an alley off on East Ninth Street between Prospect and Euclid avenues Wednesday morning. The red, white and blue Avenger was chased by a flaming car, leaped onto the car roof, then fell to the ground. He promptly got up, retrieved his shield and was ready for action. Several people saw Evans donning the Cap uniform. A spectator said she saw Cap (likely a stunt double for Evans) scale the side of the building.
And lastly, also dotting on today's shoot, there was apparently a scene that just may confirm an
earlier theory of mine regarding what yesterday's armed forces were
releasing massive firepower against; besides the evident alien threat.
On the mock New York City set, windows of the mythical Colantotte Jewelry Store (a Japanese Jewelry company) were shattered by gunfire and a group of extras ran out of the store, their eyes fixed skyward in looks of terror. An unconfirmed sighting of Tom Hiddleston (Loki) was reported outside the jewelry store. A Medical Mutual employee was told that the extras were looking in horror at a spaceship that would be computer generated above their building.
