Kevin Feige Opens Up On THOR Sequel; Confirms The Story Explores Other Worlds!

Recently catching up with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios' President Of Production, Kevin Fiege, open up on the direction for the much-anticipated THOR sequel. While we've received word of who'll takeover for original director Kenneth Branagh, Fiege essentially confirms Natalie Portman's 'Jane Foster' returning, as well the sequel exploring other worlds.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently told EW that plans were developing fast for the sequel, which he said would “take Thor literally to other worlds.” While moviegoers will next see Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-swinging hero in The Avengers next May, Thor 2 would “primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds,” Feige said.

Last month's reveal of the sequel's Asgardians and mythical Norse creatures doubling in size, is especially complimented by today's news above. But what's most exciting about the exploration of other worlds, is the fact that Marvel Studios are further pushing to expand the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe.

While The Avengers will essentially expand the Marvel Universe's cosmic side too, look for the Thor sequel in theaters July 26, 2013. What do you think?

Sounds cool... hopefully the Enchantress, and Executioner are in it... although I would like some other really strong villain to give Thor a run for his money... also Loki controlling stuff behind the scenes would be cool... :)

Will they get Kevin Sorbo to play Hercules? :)

Even though it would be cool if there was no earth scenes but did you guys really think they'd drop Natalie Portman? She draws woman viewers who like her and horny boy teenagers.

I guess his true mother "Jord" is out of the question as Thor's true mother or? It would be cool to see him wield some earth abilities!

Am I the only one disappointed that Jane Foster is back in this?

I'd like to see Odin actually cut loose and drop some Odinforce on someone's a$$! Maybe later on Loki will bring Thanos to Asgard and we'll see an Odin-Thanos fight like they had in the mid 90's!

Nice to see Ms. Black Swan returning.

This movie has great potential. Unlike other Marvel movies it will end up being the least predictable.

Bill. They must have Bill. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson could play Beta Ray Bill!

@Bastard Agreed!! I'd rather have Sif the main focus than stupid Jane Foster. For an oscar winner, she seemed pretty emotionless in the first one.

As long as the movie is executed good, I don't really care who the villain is. But the Greek Gods in this would be sooo good!

@ckal - Yes, but Thor can have help from other realms, like elfheim or something like that.

The movie will be awesome.

The awesome thing is, all the avengers stuff will be over with, so these characters can get back to there own stories. It's Caps stories I'm worried for in any sequels. Especially if they're set in the 40's...knowing he's gonna get frozen in ice takes the edge off :/

Does any think Natalie portman will return for Thor 2? I doubt it.

YES! I mean I love Thor, but the Earth scenes (though necessary for the Avengers) were less exciting than the Asgard scenes. I wanna see ALL Asgard and 9 realm in Thor 2 and more Sif and Warriors Three. The Olympians would be cool too.
@CBMfanx1, Really like the Asgard/Olympus war idea

Something tells me Loki will be imprisoned in Asgard for his treachery by the time Thor 2 comes around. It would be a cool sub plot with him trying to break out under Odin's watch and getting Odin to keep Thor from loving a mortal.
