Chris Hemsworth Talks THE AVENGERS, Praises Joss Whedon And More!

Conducted while filming for Marvel's The Avengers was underway, immediately prior to filming an action scene, Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth discussed his godly reprisal as 'Thor,' with FilmInk. Dotting on the Mighty Avenger's contribution to the story and Joss Whedon's "impressive" directorship, read on below!

"This movie is much more of an ensemble piece than Thor, obviously," the actor says. "It's been a trip. In a strange way, Thor finally fits in because he's not the only guy dressed up in a strange costume." And speaking of costumes, Hemsworth smiles saying, "This time it's sleeveless, so it's more of a summer number," he laughs.

Rehashing on Thor's contribution to the story, he says "Thor has more of a personal investment. It's not just some bad guy that he's gotta take care of; for him, it's family. There's a sense of,'I'll beat him up and teach him a lesson, not you guys.' It's the first time in ages since he's seen his brother, and it's amongst all this chaos."

"I'm hugely impressed with how Joss Whedon has worked all these characters into the story. I was asking myself, 'How is it going to work?' But Joss is a genius in the way that he's written this. All the characters get their time, and it ends up being a very iconic collaboration. We've watched these characters grow individually on screen, and to see them come together is really exciting."

Marvel's The Avengers is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

I love Chris as Thor....I am straight, but he is my male celebrity crush!

I love Joss...he is my all time faborite director...
I mean, he did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my favorite TV show.
He did Dollhouse, my 3rd favorite TV show.
And now he is doing the Avengers, which is my 3rd favorite comic book team!

I have all the faith in the world...Oh, and speaking of Faith, Eliza Dushku, my favorite actress, and sexiest woman alive was in Buffy and Dollhouse!

"In a strange way, Thor finally fits in because he's not the only guy dressed up in a strange costume."

What about the Warriors 3? Doesn't seem like an adjustment. Just working with a different team.

Joss Whedon has a lot on his shoulders. Really counting on him to bring back some of the grit Favreau gave to Iron Man 1.

So, you are fine!
How you worded your statement was not douchey...it was an opinion.

How his relation with Loki will affect the story is one of the things I look forward the most of the movie...as if the reasons are not enough. :)

He was originally sleeveless...also with the talk that the Hulk is based more on the Kirby-design than previous versions, I'm guessing Whedon will pay more homage to the original series(616)...I HOPE. I STILL want a RICK JONES cameo, though!!
