As we move closer the anticipated 2012 summer release of Marvel's superhero extravaganza The Avengers, more marketing & merchandising efforts are being revealed. And the latest, somewhat outdated, reports that a scientific gaming cooperation, MDI, has acquired rights to have the film's mighty heroes stamped on their products. Check the press release below for more info, and a photo of one of their products showcasing the deal.

Alpharetta, GA – November 16, 2011 – MDI Entertainment, LLC, a subsidiary of Scientific Games, has reached an agreement with Marvel Entertainment, LLC, to offer instant lottery games featuring characters and themes from the widely anticipated film “Marvel’s The Avengers,” due for release on May 4, 2012. The film already is receiving considerable press coverage and is being called “the ultimate Super Hero movie,” as it unites several of Marvel’s most celebrated characters: Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Nick Fury & Black Widow.

The Avengers characters have been loved by generations of comic fans since they were first presented as a team in 1963. This new film promises to deliver an exciting 3D experience for viewers, as it continues the epic adventures started in the box office hits “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.” These films were released in theaters between 2008 and 2011, and all opened at the top of the box office charts.

“Movie properties have worked well for lotteries in the past, and this is a very special opportunity,” said Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. “This could be the movie of the summer for 2012, and it’s already being covered in the media, so we expect a lot of excitement surrounding this property by the time it hits theaters in May. This excitement, combined with the attention-grabbing artwork Marvel has provided for instant tickets and point-of-sale pieces, presents lotteries with a terrific opportunity.”

“Marvel’s The Avengers” features a cast of Hollywood superstars with wide demographic appeal including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. MDI has the worldwide rights to use character images on instant tickets and promotional items. Avengers merchandise also will be available to lotteries for prizing and promotional giveaways. Additional promotional tie-ins with the film are in development as well.

I can't believe no one has said anything about the win up to $00,000. Odds of winning are zero to how ever many entries they have.

Interesting.
But Im glad they cancelled that Avengers game that was gonna be made before. I hate 1st person view, especially with action games. They should get the guys that did God of War or Ninja Gaiden to helm some Marvel properties.

"@Sagemode
you're not being very realistic.
Team ninja spends years on a single game and whoever made god of war is sony exclusive,
that first person game looked like a great co op action game imo.
"

As far as looking similar in gameplay and mechanics. A Thor game made by the guys that did the GOW series and maybe Captain America or Black Panther being done by Team Ninja would be awesome as a possibility.

rodimus speaking of games and since th gfc is over why the fuq HAVENT WE GOT OUR TDK GAME i mean cmon george lucas and the star wars franchise has picked of on kotor 3 since it was stopped because of the gfc but its back on track we need a tdk game i would have it continue from the movie and the joker would die after a long battle with batman he gets sent to arkham and then a flashback ,one of the crime mobsters planting bombs in his cell and you see joker sitting in a strait jacket on a brocken chair and then it goes slowmo as things explode and then you see the joker smile and then nothing but black. i should be a freakin director
