Despite the habitual criticism of the many posters that have been released in anticipation for The Avengers movie, I for one am very proud of Marvel-Disney's efforts; a drastic improvement from the Paramount-distributed films. But because I'm so proud, I've made finding these posters in superior quality somewhat of a priority. And doing so for the others, my latest ultra-high quality, textless, finding is for yesterday's international duo character banners. Surely desktop worthy, if you don't already have the others locked in, click the banners below to see them in their original 6800 x 3000 quality, or just download the 1280 x 560 quality displayed.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

I never noticed the little inscriptions on Thor's metal plates before. And I can count the hairs under Hawkeye's arm.

How is it that Cap's shield is scratched up from those aliens, yet when Thor struck it, there wasn't a dent? -_-

doesn't look like scratches, looks more like dirt and grime

neopunch Because the aliens just scratched off the paint. Thor might scratch off some, but probably not enough to notice since he only probably will hit it a few times.

@Gaston

It will excite action movie fans, who are already likely going to see it.

Flash a face like Robert Downey Jr. and you may get more people interested in your movie.

I like this much better, then again I am an action movie fan, and I already know who Iron Man is.

These look terrible, not the characters but these posters look like sloppy photoshop edits, none of the characters look they are there. The lighting for the photos is amateur looking. As I mentioned not slagging off movie, sure will be great and the actual characters look fine, but these are not great and this isn't the first time their posters have been poorly edited together

that's the iron man they should've put on the whole poster banner.

@Knightrider

I think you are missing the point (though that is their fault), I don't think they are suppose to be realistic as all the buildings are at a slant. This is meant to be a collage.

I think they are just showing that there will be action, and these are the players.

Oh I see what type of posters they are doing where the background colours are faded and the main focus points are full focused etc, but the character pictures look like they've had no work put into them you can easily tell that these were taken in a studio then simply just dropped on the background image.

Anyone notice how cap has two things on his head. One is presumably the hoodie thing we see in the trailers and the other is the actual helmet? look where his ear and check meet. There is fabric UNDER and OVER the top helmet piece.

check it out.

@Knightrider

Yeah, the characters being back lit with that white light is throwing the cohesiveness off.

I still like the Iron Man/Hulk banner though. At least their poses work well with each other.

Poses are fine and costumes are great, yeah I am one who isn't a fan of Caps costume, but it isn't going to ruin the film so no point worrying about it. It is just the way these photos have been put on they look like stickers from a sticker book.

Love them..... But can anyone put these together? RDJ's face kinda ruins atmosphere in the other ones. Oh and Thor's other pose was better aaaaaand put Hawkeye's shades on! And, if I may add, Cap's look in the first poster was bad ass, just need to enlarge, bring him to the front and center. Now that would be a poster!
