Following the hysterical gag reel, more deleted scenes from Marvel's The Avengers Blu-ray/DVD have surfaced online. There's even an alternate closing sequence!

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; & “Thor 2” on November 8, 2013.

I can't believe they didn't keep those scenes in, they are really fantastic work. The opening would've made a greater impact and the cap scene is just heartfelt and bittersweet. Still Avengers is one of the greatest movies ever made hands down lol

Oh, man! Joss should have left that Cap scene in the film. It was only three minutes, but it said so much about Steve's loneliness and feeling of displacement. Including it would have added a personal connection between Steve and the blonde waitress after he saved her during the battle. And Stan's cameo was great.

When i saw the deleted footage for Thor i only saw a couple of scenes that i would have put back in like the scenes showing him evolve his humility in regards to the coffee cup.

In Iron Man i wish they had left the longer Ending between Stane and Stark before he falls into the reactor.

I like all these scenes and if theirs more like these i wouldnt mind an extended cut like they did with Lord of the Rings.

Ok, I draw the line at not watching these - need to save some anticipation and release for actually watching the Blu-Ray when I get it.

I've heard that the Item47 is a chitauri weapon that these two get their hands on. I don't know what happens to it but It could be cool to extend this to being an experimental and sentient chitauri weapon that a young girl finds afterwards and becomes the superheroine 'Armory' : Avengers Initiative Vol:2.

I cannot believe they didn't keep the Captain America scene in! So good. Would have made the interaction with Nick Fury mean so much more!

Item 47 was boring and felt pointless... So they just let those two into SHIELD like that? Great.

I love all these scenes!! I wish they kept Cap's extended scene. One thing that I REALLY wish they did was made Captain America more recognizable to citizens. After what he did, he should have been put in history books within the Marvel Universe and when people see him on the street in the battle for New York, they would be shocked by the appearance of the iconic Captain America a historical hero fighting in New York. The one that was presumed to be dead after the plane crash. He's supposed to be a living legend. But despite that, The Avengers is an phenomenal film!

The Nick Fury ending speech ("The whole world knows... EVERY world knows") is MUCH better than the Maria Hill version. Joss definitely made the right call there. But I just as strongly disagree about him cutting the Cap scene. Great stuff there - Stan's cameo was much funnier!

I really liked the Maria Hill version. It broadened her character. I loved all these scenes actually, but you can see why they got cut. Besides the alt ending, it's just a matter of pacing, not necessarily that one was better than the other

I cant be the only one who cringes every time Colbie Smulders talks? I don't understand why but her voice just irritates me. Its like shes talking with water in her mouth.

The Maria Hill opening and closing were really stupid. Overly cheesy and Fury is the emphasis not her, so thank god for the film version.

I hated the Item 47 thing as well. I loved the fact that it seemed to make Sitwell the new Coulson but thats it. As a Lost fan, I liked the man in black but hes pointless. Why did they let on a few thugs to the team? Because they can operate the weapon? Why not kill them after learning how to? This was so boring and not CBMlike at all!

Now the CAP THING WAS FANTASTIC. Finally some serious reflection on the mans isolation, something the film severely lacked.

Disappointing bunch imo except Cap which was great
