Making promotional rounds for The Last Stand, Jaimie Alexander recently talked in-depth with I Am Rogue about her ‘Lady Sif’ role in Marvel's much-anticipated Thor: The Dark World. Weighing in on the sequel's new direction via Alan Taylor, the actress discusses her character's relationship with Chris Hemsworth's titular hero, the Warriors Three, and Zachary Levi. Check out the video below.

“I just finished shooting about a week and a half ago. There's going to be a bit of a darker feel and obviously a lot more action. We get to explore different realms a lot more and you see a lot more Asgard; and you get to know the people of Asgard. There is more [character development] with Sif. We sort of explore the Thor-Sif relationship a little bit; kind of [in a romantic way]. It's more like getting a feel of who these people are, how the way they are with each other. It was really fun for me and Chris. Him and I are almost like brother and sister too, so I was like maybe that translates into 'ohh they love each other on camera.' We had a good time making that movie.”

“That was hard at first [returning with a new director] because I didn't know what to expect. I love Kenneth Branagh very much He was a huge staple in my life because he launched my career. I gotta say, however, it is always great working with new people. Alan Taylor has brought a whole new vision to Thor. We've remained our own characters obviously, so there's still that similarity between the first and second one. But there's a darker feel to this one; a little more Gladiator-ish, a bit more viking-ish. So I'm really excited to see how it turns out.”

“The script did [feel more rooted in the comic book stuff]. I could read certain scenes and actually see how someone would do the drawings on the page. With that sense, Marvel was great; they said 'make it your own.' We just have a great team. I have been very lucky in my career. It was slightly different [with Zachary Levi coming in], because he's not Josh Dallas, but he's fantastic. And I've know Zach for years. He was actually one of the first choices for Fandral, so it's great to have him on board. He's definitely Fandral, and he's such a lovely guy, team player and really sweet. Everybody welcomed him with open arms and he's definitely a part of the family.”

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

Marvel needs to find a meatier role for her or expand Sif's role. She needs to be on camera more

She would also make a great WW in the JL film although I doubt WB would want her now

It may SEEM that way, ThePowerCosmic, but the Dark Knight trilogy borrows a lot of ideas from other movies as well. Because it is so iconic now, we tend to think that any use of such tropes (Hannibal Lecture, for example, or ironically, Batman's Gambit) is a rip-off.

The bad guys have been getting themselves caught on purpose for a long time now.

Josh Dallas is in that horrible ABC show that my friend loves so much.... I'd say he's missing out, but then, I didn't really like him as Fandrall. Here's hoping the new guy will be more... dashing.

Jamie has GREAT SKIN... hah, that's the first thing I think when I see her. Looking forward to seeing more of Sif and her dynamic with Thor... not just the Warrior's Three.

Just because the word "dark" is mentioned does not mean it is in reference to the style of TDK or TDKR. That notion is quite ridiculous, but a conclusion everyone wants to jump to.

I am not the least bit worried about this film. The film is going to have more battles and action...which is a plus as far as I am concerned. The other realms of Asgard being explored is another plus and they are not supposed to be as tech and bright as Asgard is, so they will come across more "dark" in nature. That is what I a taking out of what she says. Taylor knows what he is doing with this style of film and world.
