Yesterday's filming of Captain America: The Winter Soldier finally showed off Cap's new uniform. But the somewhat bigger reveal was Cap's new helmet, which appears to finally expose his ears; making the Marvel sequel the first to have the helmet design long-coveted by fans become more than just promo artwork. However, Award-winning photographer Marco Grob has shared his stylized portrait of Chris Evans' Captain America, capturing the point in time when the exposed-ears design was set for The Avengers. Check it out below and his other unseen portraits of The Avengers here!

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

Chris' head look huge in this picture. But why the hell didn't they use this mask instead of that helmet?

Why'd they change the helmet in the first place? This one is leaps and bounds better!

Can we have this in Avengers 2 please? I have nothing against the suit from the first film, but this looks better without the ears covered up.

StarkAnthony

The ears out look is actually stupid. Yes, that's how it is in the comics, but that doesn't make it look good in live action. and they may have put the ears back for the new movie, but it looks like they got rid of the wing decals which I prefer to ears.
Minotauro
Minotauro - 6/15/2013, 11:44 AM
Suit looks smooth. Not bad.

But, for once. Can they let the wings stick out??

But this is not the movie helmet, right? the material is different. Looks much better on here.

I do like this over the one used in Avengers. Should have gone with this. I like the ears out. It's funny how fanboys whine when they use something directly from the comics and then whine when they change something that was in the comics.

theInvincibleMexiMan
theInvincibleMexiMan - 6/15/2013, 12:00 PM
I'm glad they didnt use this. It looks really weird and plus it doesnt make sense why he wouldnt use the helmet. He's a soldier, he's not invincible. He needs to protect his head!!

sometimes the needs for costumes that actually make sense out weigh the needs of the fanboy

That argument makes no sense when Hawkeye and Black Widow wore no head protection and they're regular humans.

So stupid they left off the chin-strap on the Avengers version.

CAP:TFA proved that the chin-strap was great, and needed (despite some people bitching about it initially).
