Alec Baldwin Turned Down A Marvel Movie Villain Role

The star of NBC's 30 Rock fails to elaborate on the role or the movie, but Alec Baldwin reveals that he turned down the opportunity to play a Marvel movie villain this summer. Check it out after the jump!

With Marvel Comics dishing out box office hits more than ever lately, Hollywood heavyweights are being sought out for roles in the ever-expanding franchise adaptations. Exemplifying that with a missed opportunity, Alec Baldwin was a guest on the Howard Stern Show last week when he was asked why no one has offered him a villain role in a superhero movie. "I have, but I won't mention which one," Baldwin revealed. "I don't want to undo somebody because they hired someone else to do it. But they asked me to play a villain in one of these Marvel Comics movies," he reiterated. As to why he turned down the role, the 55-year-old actor said, "I wasn't available, they wanted me to work a certain time. And because of my wife's pregnancy, I had to turn down two films this summer that I wanted to do." Even after Howard Stern pressed him for details, Alec Balwin said he would only disclose the role off-camera. Oh well! However, considering that his wife is supposedly six months pregnant right now, that leaves The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy as possible Marvel movies that Alec Baldwin would have played a villain in. What do you think?

Portman does suck.

The only time she ever acted in her life was when Darren was the director. The man is a miracle worker.

Please give this man the Batman reboot since Mangold did Wolverine.

I will say though, Portman's fine.

LEVITIKUZ have you read his batman script acouple years backit was horrible i know you love darren but trust me you will hate what he does to batman he is a director who will change canon and source material to fit his vision of the character.

quick example darren's batman script had alfred not as a butler but a mechanic who was also black

Yes I read it. Do you know how it ends? Bruce reveals to the world he's back. Bruce and Big Al move into Wayne Manor.

I don't care if Alfred's black by the way.

Some stuff I liked but he had Miller pen it so the blame goes with him.

I also heard at the time, film executives wanted to completely redo Batman in a different way after Batman & Robin so some of the changes are likely due to the executives.

I give the script a 7/10.

Also got a shout out by Darren on Twitter once for finding out some concept art for the film.

I agree, that script was God-aweful. That was not even Batman. I'm nervous as to what his Wolverine would've been.

Family comes first assholes. Don't hate him because he wasn't in your superhero movie.

You can hate him because he's a dick and an ass but not for choosing family over CBMs.
