Thanks to TheIrishAvenger for the heads up! This info comes from forum user 04nbod, and she seems to have read it from the latest issue of Empire Magazine, which featured new pics and info regarding The Avengers. Possible spoilers ahead...

Captain America has a scene in Stuttgart, Germany, with extras getting drunk outside a theatre playing "Wagner's Ring Cycle" before Loki shows up.

The Avengers will span the globe like a Bond movie.

Feige thinks Renner is a possible scene stealer.

There is a scene with Thor and Iron Man in the woods at night, the one we saw with Cap in the trailer I guess.

The solo adventures will be referenced and Cap will learn the fate of Peggy.

The scene with Loki in a big museum like building is a German court house. He comes out and gives a massive speech about subjugating humanity ('You were made to be ruled') and tells the crowd to kneel. An old German man says he'll never kneel to anyone again and Loki attempts to vaporise him with his staff when Cap uses his shield to deflect the beam. Cap replies 'Men who want to rule the world end up getting just 6 feet of it'. Loki then whoops Cap's ass but Iron Man shows up just in time to capture him and take him back to the SHIELD helicarrier... Which is just what he wants.

They go on to describe the E23 footage and how Feige saw 'We have a Hulk' all over the internet afterward. He praises the writing saying that they cut out lines that would be the best lines in an average movie. And someone is getting validation...Cap will tell Hulk to SMASH!

The post credits scene of Thor was shot in 3D and Whedon hated it. He was originally going to shoot in 3D and decided to convert it in post. Whedon jokes about his reputation for killing characters, he says Cap's death will come out of nowhere and be hilarious.

The studio determines the movies they make, not the director. Feige says 'We are incredibly hands on in a way that a lot of filmmakers have no interest in dealing with'.

The incredible floating budget is said to be $300 million.

@knossis I think some of what you say is right. Marvel is VERY determined to make sure their characters are being treated correctly, however, I do believe they give their directors all the creative freedom they'd like. Once marvel finds a director that understands the character 100%, they hand the reins over to him/her and let them do what they want (ie, branaghs Thor, Jon's iron man etc). They don't find directors with an impressive resume who will desecrate the character by making it their own.. They find directors who have an understanding of the character.

So no, I don't think marvel is too controlling of their properties. Once they see a problem, they intervene, but I feel like the directors have a lot of creative freedom. This is the perfect way to make great movies IMO.

JARVIS becomes Vision would be very cool in my book. Paul Bettany would make a great Vision.

As for the Feige comment about control that is about jenkins but also probably a dig at Ed Norton.

Hey Kev, wanna guess how many awards for artistic achievement these movies are gonna get? How about leaving it to those who know what they're doing?

Joss Whedon (who knows from being interfered with by studio execs and their excessive involvement) has repeatedly said that Feige and the execs at Marvel have been extremely awesome to work for. As he said to Warren Ellis:

"And the plan is that you’ll see it once Joss has made the AVENGERS film. (Which, by the way, is going to be really [frick]ing good. I have Sekrit Knowledges. Also worth noting: Joss has nothing but good things to say about Kevin Feige, which bodes extremely well.)"

@ISleepNow - Really? You think that Marvel should produce movies in order to win awards for artistic achievement? Didn't Downey do Iron Man because he decided he wanted to make a movie that people wanted to see instead of the kind of movies he was previously making which were just critically acclaimed?
ISleepNow
ISleepNow - 1/23/2012, 11:01 PM
@mstaley3000 - Not just for awards although they can be an indicator of how well films are made. In any case there should be other motivations for making them than just making money. Making movies that are popular is fine but if they're going to hire a filmmaker to do a job they should let him make the call or not hire him to begin with. Jon Favreau did a fine job making the first Iron Man movie and they should have given him more creative freedom to make the second or not even hired him at all
