Do the rumors ever stop for Marvel Studios movies? Apparently not and not even on Marvel's own production sets.
While walking around the Downtown Cleveland
Captain America: The Winter Soldier set today,
Plain Dealer and Cleveland.com reporter Michael Sangiacomo was most likely talking to any production person who would give him any information. I can relate since I have been doing the same thing the past two days.
According to Sangiacomo's Twitter account, he got one piece of info that is sure to start churning the rumor mill and debate machines across the Internet.
Without citing a more specific source, it's hard to take the portion of the info that says the Black Panther will be in
The Avengers 2 seriously. But we do know for a fact as writer/director Joss Whedon has confirmed his current draft of the ensemble movie's script has Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in it.
Rumors have been on the 'Net for pretty much a year now saying that Black Panther will get his own solo movie at some point down the road but perhaps his origin and introduction will indeed be coming from
The Avengers Sequel. This rumor adds to the other rumor, from just a few days ago, stating that a portion of the sequel could be filmed in Africa. Maybe this is all starting to come together. Maybe.
Tough to tell what is truth and lies anymore. Especially when new info is provided and the sources are so vaguely described or not described at all—like in this specific case. That's the nature of the Internet media machine anymore so take this with a grain of salt. Or believe it. Your choice.
