Rumor: Hank And Janet Of The Avengers Have Been Cast!

As many have predicted and speculated, word is, one deal has been done and the second should be done soon with official announcements at Comic-Con.

A well trusted source close to Marvel Studios is saying that Nathan Fillion (Serenity) will be playing Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym. The actor is in final negotiations for a multi film deal that would start with The Avengers in 2012. Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) will play Janet Van Dyne as has long been speculated ever since leaving Marvel with a stack of Avengers resource material (that’s comic books to you and me) in 2008. This would actually make her the second person cast for the movie, only behind that of Robert Downey Jr.

At this point, they may only be playing S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists. No word on whether any of their super powers will be seen in the first Avengers or not. Their relationship has not been clearly defined either: simply co-workers and/or husband and wife are all still on the table. Official announcements, along with other Avengers casting news, will be done at Comic-Con in San Diego next month.

uhhhhhh I highly doubt this...it seems too fabricated...they kept saying Ant-man and wasp wont in til post Avengers.... those were two have been rumored all the time...even a cameo its still unlikely...I like Fillion as an actor but he wont get this role...he will find his heroic calling one day

I liked her in Over Her Dead Body. That was a good movie. But I haven't seen fillion act so I don't really know if he's good or not

Damm, this is great news! Finally Fillion will fill the
film-role I wanted him for in the worst way!

Eva Longoria is a fine actress! And she's small to fit
the WASP ROLE. She's definitely done her homework for
the part.

I dont believe it I really like Fillion. But I dont see them picking him for the part. He is a TV actor if they did not choose Jensen Ackles for Cap they will not pick Fillion of Ant-Man even though I think both would do a good job. But Joss Whedon is directing so maybe it could happen.

Love Fillion for Hank he needed to be in the Marvel Universe somwhere!!!!

Parker can do enough for Janet, its not like she will end up getting a WASP movie from this role, it's clear that the main guys will be getting more screen time then these two.

Enough with the Effin Jensen Ackles...HE cleary sucks or someone would have casted him in a movie other the this masterpiece My Bloody Valentine 3-D.

I hope Avengers does not get crowded either! I can't confirm this at all but I don't think these will be big parts for the first movie.

As for MPP-The last time I talked to him, he is on sabbatical sorting things out and weighing his options.

Nathan Fillion's been my choice from the start, so I totally approve of him.

HELL NO to Eva Longoria though. I can't stand her, and sher acting is annoying. She was so annoying in "Over Her Dead Body", which was one of the dumbest movies I've watched. Then again, Gaby from Desperate Houswives is almost a watered down version of Janet Van Dyne. Maybe some good writing will actually get her to act better...

I hope I get to see Longoria getting slapped around... I know, I'm wrong. Fillon might be the best actor for Pym though. I couldn't see to many serious actors wanting that role.

Like the idea of Fillion but not Longoria. As other people said Avengers could be over-crowded. Iron Man 2 was good but the title character barely had any screen time because of lamely pleasing fans.
So far, we have no idea how many characters will be included. The characters are shaping up to be:
Iron man, Cap, Thor, Hank Pym, Wasp, Hawkeye, Agent Coulson, Nick fury, and maybe Bruce Banner. A lot of these characters are seeming to be overdone and stressing the fact these films are in the same continuity. I just hope this could stop with Avengers.

Hell to the effing no to Longoria.

Not sure if it's true. I'd love for Fillion to be Hank, but there are SO many actresses who are more talented and just as hot or hotter than Longoria. Extremely lackluster choice if true.
