Avengers Assemble is an American animated television series, based on the fictional Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers, which has been designed to capitalize on the success of the 2012 film adaptation. Avengers Assemble premiered on May 26, 2013, on Disney XD. The series is a replacement for The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It airs alongside Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.. Additionally, it features a near-identical cast and crew with both shows, and shares continuity with them as part of the block. Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle (a group known as Man of Action) have been confirmed to be the executive producers of the series)

The show receives a lot of hate. But I like it. Animation is decent.

So I just got done watching Avengers Assemble season 2 episode 3. Valhalla can wait. There were several things wrong with it. And yes, I know it's a kids show but hear me out.

1. Hela and Loki.

A. First it follows the very recent Marvel retcon that Hela is not Loki's daughter. This was first done in Young Avengers in 2012 / 2013.

B. In the last animated Marvel universe (The Kyle and Yost universe) which was just three years ago, Hela was most definitely Loki's daughter. It even came up in Thor vs. Hulk which is in the continuity of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest heroes.

C. It's wrong to retcon Hela being Loki's daughter. Marvel should not have done this. Not only had she been his daughter for almost fifty years of comic book continuity but that's from actual Norse mythology. Do not retcon actual mythology and why? To take away some of the supernatural traits of the Asgardians or to promote the cheesy romance between "Kid Loki" and "Leah" (Hela's alter ego) from the Young Avengers comics?

2. This is the really dark part of the cartoon. And before you tell me I am over analyzing a kid's show, that's just it. This IS a kid's show. And Thor deliberately threw a fight just to hand his brother (adopted or not) to the afterlife. Despite what Loki's done Thor is supposed to be better than him. And Thor and Hulk worked together to get Hela to claim Loki instead of either of them. That's dark. Even darker is how Thor didn't even seem to care or mourn while Loki is dragged to the afterlife. WTF?! He just handed someone over to literally die and suffer for eternity. I know what Loki did but Thor is NOT Loki, he shouldn't stoop to Loki's level. He's supposed to be better than Loki.

This is darker than the Avengers not caring or reacting when Hawkeye got his sight back at the end of last season.

This really rubbed me the wrong way.

Not to mention the childish play fighting between Thor and Hulk is getting really annoying and done at absolutely inappropriate moments.
