While promoting his movie, The Judge, and discussing whether or not he will get an Oscar for the film, Robert Downey Jr. comments on being the highest paid actor of 2014, "Who cares? I remember living in an apartment and you don't have the rent for the next month. All that matters is how is salvation going to occur? How am I going to get 600 bucks?" He then adds why he feels this way about the topic, "And that's the only problem money solves. It takes away the fear of financial insecurity and fear of financial insecurity is a big one, but it's only one of a thousand fears." So RDJ certainly doesn't worry about the money and whose on top of the game, his primary concern is getting his films done, and making the fans happy. Of course, Robert's next film will be Avengers: Age of Utlron, hitting theaters in 2015! Sound off below with your thoughts !
Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015.

"Who cares?"

Wow... What a hypocritical comment coming from the guy who threatened to step away from his film role if he doesn't get a minimum of $50 million. And that, my friends, is arrogance.

How noble. Is that why he's asking for 40 million + backend to star in Cap 3?

I don't judge RDJ, he might be donating a lot of money secretly

Sure money doesn't make you happy, but neither does making bad movies, RDJ!

@LubedUp The same thing has been said about almost every single incarnation of James Bond, Batman, Chris Reeve's Superman, Ledger's Joker ect. It doesn't matter how good someone is in a role, there will ALWAYS be someone who can/will do it better in the future.

Why the [frick] would he ask for less money than what he made before. That's how jobs work.

Also it seems like everyone forgot that he also made Marvel pay the other guys even more.
And he gives a lot of money to drug rehabilitation places and some organización that gives scolarships (don't remember which one)

LMFAOO!!!

How [frick]ing pathetic of you Downey. Where does Hollywood find these midgets?! The little [frick]er got more pay than his "beloved" Avengers family and still wanted more to return after Iron Man 3. Hell, the lame-o just asked for more cash to star in Cap 3.

"Who cares? I remember living in an apartment and you don't have the rent for the next month. All that matters is how is salvation going to occur? How am I going to get 600 bucks?"

If that's the case, why didn't you keep this "apartment" so that your boy could return in the sequel?

Sh*t, we could've had this

Damn shame.

I'm going to rob Robert Downey Jr. one day.
JAC

@Bekss It's the same reason why he's now going to be co-starring in Cap 3 with Evans. He originally had a small part, he wanted a bigger part because bigger part=more money, Iger didn't like that and wanted him out, but Downey more than likely went into his "I'm the biggest monetary draw right now, so give me more money or I'll quit" spheel.

"The Variety report indicates that Marvel originally wanted Downey’s Captain America 3 role to be small, just three weeks of work. When Downey lobbied for more screen time and more money, he was almost written out entirely."

He is basically a cash cow for Marvel now, and he hasn't made an interesting movie outside Marvel since Tropic Thunder (and Chef). The Judge was a big misfire, terrible movie, bad career move on his part. He needs to reassess who he wants to be and which dirction he wants his career to go. With all his money and leverage he could get himself involved in some really cool movie making. Who cares if he makes studios a big bunch of money, none of this matters if the movies are stupid, predictable and boring.

DeusExSponge - 10/26/2014, 3:50 PM
I think RDJ is an awesome actor and all, and I know he's a big draw to these movies. But it seems a bit excessive to be getting $40 million in a Captain America movie!

And you believe everything you read.
Why the hell would Marvel write him out of the movie they want to be Civil War
