@knossis I totally agree. The used universe is a solid look over that too clean look. But in some cases, I think it's the set themselves more so than that too clean look. For instance; I understand that things like the SHIELD headquarters shouldn't look dirty, so having it clean is no problem. But at the same time, it shouldn't look like the walls will fall over if you sneeze. If you look at the Prometheus trailer, the crafts and the tech look heavy. The walls and the panels of the ship look like they are dense, thick. The first thing I thought, and said when I saw it was; this is how the Avengers should look and feel. Of course I was nearly lynched but hey, these are the risks we take here.

Your star trek accessment is pretty spot on if not a little funny. I remember the first shield headquarter pics looked like star trek: enterprise.

Looks like something you would see in Avatar, but I like it. It is functional and not something to poke fun at like the Fantasticar was.

knossis: I agree and disagree you about the tech comment and I'll explain why.

In Star Wars you'll notice anything that is showing "wear" or "abuse" is Rebel equipment. The Empire's equipment is all top notch and pristine. This could be directly attributed to funding. The Empire has an unlimited amount of resources and manpower at their disposal to keep their equipment in that condition where as the Rebels are limited. So naturally the Rebels would be aiming at function over cosmetics.

The same would hold true for SHIELD and anything produced by Stark. Their equipment has both the manpower and financing to keep it in the utmost condition. I would expect everything they use to look brand spanking new or there would be some jobs lost on their maintenance crews.

That may be nitpicking but it makes sense to me.
