RUMOR: Matthew Vaughn In Talks To Direct STAR WARS EPISODE 7

While nothing is confirmed just yet, a new rumor has surfaced online regarding the potential director for Star War Episode VII. According to the new report, Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn could be in talks with Disney to direct the film...

We are going to read a lot of rumors for Star Wars Episode VII. The main thing everyone wants to know is, who will direct the film? Well, Collider has a nice little rumor on that. As they say, nothing is confirmed, so for now, take this with a grain of salt. But, according to the report, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn might be in talks to direct this new chapter:

I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan Singer is now directing).

There you go. If this turns out to be true, then I'm all for it. Vaughn is a great director, and I think he would be a very interesting choice. Walt Disney bought LucasFilm last week, and with that, they plan to release Episode VII in 2015, followed by a new Star Wars film every two to three years. Would you like to see Vaughn directing Episode VII?

Whoever it is, we must have the following:

Better dialogue
Better acting
LESS, much less green screen and CG than the prequels
Less lightsaber action
Have an Iconic nemesis; like how it was in the original trilogy with Vader, the Emperor, and the Empire. Droids, Grievous and Dooku were lame as f***.

maybe this is why he drop out of x-men D.O.F.P, so he could have the inside track on star wars. i know disney and lucas had not made their deal yet, but a mega deal like disney buying the rights to Star Wars dosen't happen over night. he might have heard it was going down soon, and disney's plans to make episode 7 right away.

Hmmm, I wonder why they would want the First Class director over the Thor or Captain America directors? Maybe its because the Fox X-Men film was better than the 2 Marvel Studios films? Maybe.

Oh my God! You guys are f---king insane!! I never understood the praise this wannabe Guy Richie hack gets. First Class was complete and utter crap because of his directing. Just compare the Bryan singer opening of X1 with his rushed emotionless version in first Class. Look at how he ignores logic with Angel revealing her mutant powers in a room WITH OPEN WINDOWS AND A ROOM FULL OF STRIPPERS IN PATRONS IN THE BACKGROUND. Look at the illogical nonsense when Emma Frost cuts open that mirror and tells the CIA that crap about WAR when she CAN CONTROL MINDS!! She should have just took control of their consciousness and let herself out. Look at how he rushes from location to location in that abomination of an X-Men film. miss Singer's direction. It was very sophisticated and i feel like he took the material seriously. Vaughn goes back and forth from being serious to being wacky and lame..lamer than spiderman 3 dancing on the bar lame.

Please Stop hating Nolan & bringing Whedon & Vaughn!

None of them should direct!

Rian Jonsan or Duncan Jones or some other New young director with a clear, new & Fresh Vision for Star Wars should come on board!!
& as much as I love Vaughn; he can't stick on anything!
He left KickAss 2 for X:Men:2 & now left X:Men -2 again.

The reason I don't support Nolan, Whedon, JJ, Vaughn or Spielberg directing this new film is that they are already big director & will bring lots of baggage & insane expectation with them; & they will never ever be met if anyone of these are attached!!

Go for a new & talented guy who changes StarWars for good & make it for a new generation; whether DARK or HAPPY tone; it's should be HIS/ her choice!!
So Stop jerking here idiots; any poll won by Nolan is not carried by Disney; so if he's won then they'll pick him!
Disney are not gona pick Nolan & Nolan doesn't need StarWars or Disney!
Both are Happy on their own, so Hater try & be Happy in life as u want a Happy funny film!

@LAXtremest when I say less lightsaber action, I mean for the new movies to be like the Originals. The prequels were over-saturated with lightsaber action. There would be about 3 or 4 total times in the originals where the lightsabers were used, and 3/4 of the time it was just for a few seconds. It made it more special and memorable.

Jake Lloyd has said that Star Wars ruined his life and that after Episode 1 he refused to ever act again. Not only would he be a bad fit for Luke, but his attitude and acting ability wouldn't be good for any role in any film.

Well Vaughn's Magneto in First Class was a better Anakin Skywalker than the one in the Star Wars prequels so....I'd be for it lol.

Horse shit.

Vaughn left the X-Men First Class sequel because he found making the first one was too "stressful". The guy would have a [frick]ing mental break down if he tried Star Wars.

@Fullmetal I'm pretty sure those Windows wouldnt be clear since it was a private room for strippers. As for the Emma scene they never show her actually communicating with someone else's mind, only read it.
