Paul Bettany Unsure About Whether He'll Return As J.A.R.V.I.S In The Avengers And Iron Man 3!

At the WonderCon panel for Priest, the actor was quizzed about whether he'll return as J.A.R.V.I.S in The Avengers and Iron Man 3, and here's what he had to say about that...

While the former director of the Iron Man franchise, Jon Favreau, has already revealed that he'd be willing to reprise his role as Happy Hogan in the next installment, Paul Bettany is a little less certain about returning as the robotic assistant of Tony Stark. Here's what he apparently had to say in response to a fan earlier today.

"I just bumped into Jon Favreau and I should have asked him that question... I haven't a clue. It's such a peculiar response I've had to that movie 'cause it impacted on my life in practically no way whatsoever.

"I get called up about a day before it gets released and they say 'Hey man, we've sort of forgot about J.A.R.V.I.S., should we go and record something?' I go into a recording studio for about an hour and I do my stuff and they write me a check and I go home."

Directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, Iron Man 3 is set to be released on May 7, 2013!

Job is a job!;)

Bettany would make a great Brainiac for the new Superman movie! His voice just fits perfectly for a genius super computer!

You know you're living the life when you only need to "work" an hour and get paid AND you're in one of the biggest movies of the year.

I love Paul Bettany as the Jarvis A.I. Marvel should call him up and let him know that they'll be using him again.

I'd still like to see a real Jarvis and we NEED to see Rick Jones

Let IM3 work out its own bugs, but how about an Edwin Jarvis for Avengers instead of a J.A.R.V.I.S.? I think it would be great to have this all-too-human butler fussing about gods, iron billionaires, and super soldiers. I mean, it worked well for C3-PO.

The funny thing is that neither him or Gwyneth know if they´ll return. His role isn´t that important, but hers. How can she says that she has no idea if she´ll be bcak on the sequel.

Post from 2008: "They're still casting the day before it's released?? OMG, Iron Man must be way off track and terrible and Marvel knows it!"

They don't know if they're in it because the script isn't completed. Once compelted they go into pre-production and that's when they shore up the cast. Dang, you guys read too much into uninformed comments from actors.
