More Scaly Lizard Effects Spotted On Rhys Ifans On Amazing Spider-Man Set!

Rhys Ifans has once again been spotted on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man, this time with some scaly effects on his neck, further hinting that his transformation into the Lizard will be a gradual one...

It's unclear whether the Welsh actor was on his way to have further make-up effects applied (possibly adding some green to what Mail Online point out are scales on his neck) but along with the recent images of Ifans with Lizard make-up applied around his eyes, it would appear that his transformation into the classic villain will take place throughout the film.

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

TelaVizion There's no way he's going to be transforming the entire film for a single action sequence. I know the production looks cheap and rushed and it IS sony going for a cash grab, but i'll give them more credit than that. They would lose their shirts if they did it that way. Fanboys are just saying yes to whatever they think is going to happen. If he transformed during the opening credits, fanboys would be like cool, now there's multiple encounters with the Lizard! But since a few make-up shots here and there says he won't change all at once, we got this whole eye-rolling thing about how a slow transformation is good.

Full Lizard 45 minutes in or fail. Then general public will wonder whats the point of this different spider-man if nothing cool is happening. Sony aint that stupid. At least I don't think they are. They did make the PlayStation.

Absolutley cant wait for this film. But I can only wonder if Spiderman can take on The Lizard so early in his career, I cant wait to see how the fightt scences play out. The Lizard is a very dangerous advesary.

looks like he transforms gradually...that doesn't mean that the transformation will be complete just at the end of the movie.I,personally, think that maybe at some point in the middle of the movie we'll see the doctor turning into his Lizard alter-ego.

I'm loving the route they're going with this. Choosing a gradual transformation. I bet the news papers are going to be headlining Connor's arm growing back. It'll be a hit as, behind the scenes, the side affects continue to alter his brain chemistry, turning him into what we all know today. I'm really looking forward to this movie. The tidbits and casting so far have been great. Plus they're going the Nolan route with practical effects. I say that takes true quality to pull off, ESPECIALLY in a comic book film. Much kudos.

I like how in the last pic he's trying to cover it up. He's probably thinkin' "Oh crap, I shouldn't let the photographers see me like this!"

Can't wait for the movie, 419 days.

A gradual transformation is nice, and can have better dramatic effect, but I sure hope we don't just see the Lizard in the final act.

As for 'The Fly', both versions are pretty cool in different ways, and I would recommend both films to any of you that haven't seen them.

i think it will be gradual throughout the whole movie with the protogoblin as the main villian and in the ending scene like after the credits they will show him transofrm totally and that will lead 2 the 2nd movie

1) Geez, what if he just has a skin condition? Poor guy has people on the Internet saying he's got lizard skin.

2) Somewhere, Dylan Baker is going... "Why the [frick] did I waste all that time shooting Spider-Man 2 and 3?

TelaVizion@ Don't forget, they have been saying since the beginning, this film will not focus on villains, but Parker's teen angst and dealing with his powers. Villains are going to take a secondary role and from the looks of everything we have seen, it seems to be the case. That's why I have not been on the bandwagon with others here. I am with Lee, it will suck if we don't get to see a full transformation into the Lizard.
