Released by MARVEL, check out the newest character poster for The Avengers, following on from the previously released versions which featured Captain America and Iron Man. Offering up our first decent look at Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, we can now see the exact design of the costume which will be featured in the upcoming movie. Oh, and what exactly is that floating overhead..? Only the bloody S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier!

I was a little skeptical when i heard they were taking a different direction with the costume, but i must say i greatly approve. It looks WAY more badass then i thought it was going to.

I actually like the red. Its more of a burgundy/maroonish red rather than bright in your face. The hellicarrier is awesome! Love to see the hulk battle on it in the movie, if of course they didnt change the script from the leaks.

In many of the Ultimate Hawkeye appearances he wore only sunglasses or goggles. Personally i like the idea of a faced superhero. Seems to make him more human which gives me the impression that the movie itself will have a more human element to it then a comic book feel. Much like Dark knight. A real feeling like these guys are putting their lives on the line and not that they can get tossed through walls and not get hurt like most movies do.

Why would he need a mask? This isn't the "superhero" secret identity nonsense form the old comics, these guys are agents, they have as much need for a secret identity and a mask as you're average soldier or policeman! Some of you need to read The Ultimates a bit more to understand where they're going this.

Looks like these character posters link together into one. I think I see a piece of Thor's cape on the left side of Hawkeye, and a piece of Nick Fury's coat on the right.
