Details About A Scene Between Captain America And Loki; Black Widow And Iron Man Spotted!

An extra on the set of The Avengers has written a revealing account of what exactly happens on the Cleveland set doubling for Germany, and it includes a scene between Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man and Loki...

Thanks to Kleefeld On Comics, we have the following account of his experiences on the set of The Avengers over the past couple of nights. It seems they've been far more secretive than we first realized, as both Iron Man (more than likely a stunt double in the suit as Robert Downey Jr. is said to not be attending the filming in Cleveland) and Black Widow were also there a couple of nights ago. Most interesting is the fact that Captain America clashes with the God of Mischief, which backs up some of the previous rumors we've heard. We even have a line of his dialogue...sounds very Cap-like, eh?

Today's my first night on The Avengers set. (They're pretty strict about cameras, so no pics. Sorry.) They're filming a scene where Loki shows up on Earth and Black Widow, Captain America and Iron Man take him on. I'm on the sidelines looking surprised.

Still filming The Avengers in Cleveland. They just flipped a car down the street as about 100 of us panicked. We were all well out of the way but there were about 6-8 stunt men (I presume) closer to the action.

I think there's a fair chance I'll make it in the final cut. When Loki tries to fry the old guy in the beer garden in Germany, I'm a few feet to his right. I also had Whedon within arm's reach for a bit while he discussed some direction with an assistant director.

We spent most the rest of the night kneeling before Zod... er... Loki. More than kneeling on bricks to make everyone's joints sore. Despite the kneepads they passed out. But it ended with Evans as Cap giving a nice speech ("The last time I was in Germany...") and taking on Loki single-handedly. All of us got to run out in chaos just as the rain forced things to a slightly early halt.

Sounds pretty damned good I think you'll agree! However, with no footage or photos having leaked from last night's filming, it looks like this is one scene that Marvel Studios and Joss Whedon are determined to keep a secret! What do you think about how things are shaping up on The Avengers so far, and what do you think about these scenes? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man

When people in Cleveland felt the quake, they just shrugged and figured it was more from the epic Avengers throw down.

@tea - Ignore JLAnevergoingtohappen. CATFA is at $312 mil worldwide. You only need to double your production budget to break even which would be $280 mil for CATFA and the movie is sill doing well. GL on the other hand...

I always thought the Avengers weren't made aware of Loki's presence until after Hulk went on a mind controlled rampage?? And yet we've seen footage of Thor in the forest, so why wouldn't he be there in "Stuttgart" for Loki's arrival on Earth?

Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 8/24/2011, 7:43 AM
Have any of you reading this noticed that it doesn't say anywhere in the article that Cap, Black Widow and Iron Man take Loki down?

It says they go up against him. It never even hints that they may win. They don't know who this dude is, only that he needs to be stopped. Even if they did know who he was and that they couldn't win, it wouldn't stop them from trying.

So first Cap, Iron Man, and Black Widow fight then Cap fights him himself.

I wonder where does Iron Man and Black Widow goes or what happens to them.

BUT I THOUGHT THE AVENGERS ARE FIRST ALERTED TO LOKI WHEN HULK GOES SMASHING LOGS?? NOT WHEN LOKI LANDS ON EARTH????

Have you seen the teaser after Cap:TFA ??

Marvel have alluded to Hulk rampaging through a forest with Thor on hand to throw his hammer around. I'm assuming this is because Loki is controlling him. So the above description seems to contradict what we've learnt so far about the movie.
KungFuKoala
KungFuKoala - 8/24/2011, 8:13 AM
But the original Avengers story is Loki controlling Hulk is it not?
KungFuKoala
KungFuKoala - 8/24/2011, 8:21 AM
Well, even if it isn't the story used in the film, I'm pretty confident that acquiring Hulk will take up the first action sequence in the film's narrative, and we've seen that Thor may be involved here. And if that is the case, why isn't he around to confront his brother later in the story??

maybe capt, IM and BW are attempting to take Loki down early in the film....not realizing who or what he is....?

@Hawks - Did you think trying to bring some sense to the comments section would help?

I'm not even sure some of these people read the damn article?

@LoudLon - No problem. Glad I could be of help. I'm Tard #1 BTW :)

@bropous - LOL! Totally agree but I just thought it was funny :)
KungFuKoala
KungFuKoala - 8/24/2011, 9:06 AM
@ckal - glad you agree. My concern is how they get Thor back Asgard so quickly into the storyline. Perhaps SHIELD using the Cube accidentally allow Loki back back up to Asgard who then returns equipped for mischief, and Thor comes down to warn them. SHIELD sends Cap, Stark and Widow for Loki, but tell Thor he's better deployed trying to bring in Banner. So these two stories would run concurrently. I can imagine Hawkeye also tagging along with Thor for the ride.
KungFuKoala
KungFuKoala - 8/24/2011, 9:13 AM
@bropous - that would explain my first point about Hulk. For me its no coincidence that Banner is in a log cabin at the end of TIH and the Avengers teaser has SHIELD ops closing in on a log cabin with a luminous green light coming from the doorway.

And your description would also explain Thor's absence in Stuttgart. Thor exiled yet again. Would SHIELD incarcerate him for his actions, or let him go? If they do the latter, this might leave an opportunity for Thor to visit Jane Foster who consoles him and reminds him how he can still be the hero. Then he flies in to save the day when Cap and Stark are getting their arses kicked by [insert alien race here] and Loki.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 8/24/2011, 10:03 AM
It's possible that somewhere along the line Thor discovers Mjolnir can transport him anywhere he wants to go.

Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't believe nuthin' without pics or video (at least that's what the voices in my head say...)

@ Loudlon: Hey listen bub, Teabag is an intelligent and respectable guy that happens to enjoy spicing up the site with pics of scantilly clad gals and nobody else seems to mind. Not everything in the world has to be suitable for children, sorry. Why don't you go and read her a book instead of whining that the things you want to do while you ignore her aren't G rated.

Speaking of which, that is some nice language Mr. Father of the Year. And I hope she does not grow up using terms like "tard". Not very PC.
