Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt In Talks For Sci-Fi Romance PASSENGERS

You may have heard of Jon Spaihts' (Prometheus, Doctor Strange) script for Passengers, as it's been on the Black List for quite a while, and at one time had Keanu Reeves and Rachel McAdams lined up for the lead roles. That version of the movie never went anywhere, but now Variety are reporting that subsequent to Sony purchasing the rights late last year, the project has a new director in Morten Tyldum, and two of the biggest actors in the world right now in early talks to star.

Chris Pratt would play one of thousands of passengers aboard a spacecraft heading for a new home planet in a distant galaxy who wakes from cryo-sleep 90 years before he's supposed to, and decides to wake another passenger to keep him company. That, of course, is Jennifer Lawrence's character. She obviously isn't too pissed about it though, as this is said to spark the "beginning of a love story".

Sounds like an interesting premise, but both Lawrence and Pratt have very full plates right now so there's a chance one or both might have to pass this one up. The film will be produced by Neal Moritz and Ori Marmur through Moritz’s Original Film banner along with Michael Maher for Start Media and Stephen Hamel of Company Films.

"two of the biggest actors in the world right now"

Please...

That's a disrespect to the profession and to the truly great actors/actresses around the globe.

Two of Hollywood's most likeable actors in a Sci fi love story....why not haha. Only a matter of time before Hollywood tried to get its most likeable actors together

Malakas, that's not my opinion it's a fact. Whether you happen to like them or not, Lawrence and Pratt made more money than any other actors in Hollywood last year and have directors and studios falling over themselves to work with them.

@RorMachine
I actually like them.And their movies sure made shit loads of money and they will in the future.
But is that what makes an actor/actress one of the bests?
If they would star on indy films they would be considered bad because of low box office profits?
I get what you mean, and you are right.
It's just me that the word best didn't sound to well and i thought about all the actors/actresses that appear on indy films and in stages and give terrific performances and of course don't star on multi-million Hollywood productions.

My origin story is awesome! As a baby, my mother was kidnapped by ninjas. Then Ra's al Ghul took me in.

I like this premise but I don't think Chriss has his "craft" down just yet. He needs a couple serious roles before he can dig into a role like this...or maybe this could be good practice for him. I love the guy and hope he chooses smart roles for himself. Actually I'm going to flip flop now, he's good for the role.

Also, it's constantly amazing to me just how childishly the "power users" talk to the commenters here..or what are essentially customers. It's like teenagers berating 5 year olds and it's not very professional. IMO.

I love Pratt but getting fatigued of him. He needs to not force himself unto everything and be a bit more selective.
