UPDATE: FAN ART: Jon Bernthal As THE PUNISHER

UPDATE: FAN ART: Jon Bernthal As THE PUNISHER

Marvel is known for casting pretty well in general, but they may have outdone themselves by enlisting former The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal to play Frank Castle in season 2 of Netflix's Daredevil. Check out Boss Logic's take on how the actor might look suited and booted as The Punisher...

Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Wolf of Wall Street, Fury) has been on many fan's wishlist to play the Punisher for quite a long time, so it came as a great surprise when Marvel announced that they'd gone and cast him in the role for the second season of Daredevil. In fact, it's hard to recall any casting being met with such universally high praise.

Castle doesn't exactly go in for elaborate, showy costumes (black cloths, tee with a skull on it, sorted) but Boss Logic has put together this cool pic, giving us an idea of how Bernthal could appear as a battle-damaged Punisher out for vengeance.

Are you excited about the prospect of the Punisher crossing paths with Daredevil next season? Sound off below.

@Pasto

I think it has something to do with using guns in promotional images, I know for a fact that BossLogic (the artist) gets either his gun designs or the .png files of his guns from another artist (typically credits him)

Give him some scruff. He's a depressed alcoholic; he doesn't care to shave everyday.

I've seen a few people mention how Jon Bernthal's too short to play the Punisher? Well, to be honest the guy is only 5'10,even though the Punisher is 6'1 I think they can easily give the guy some stilt/elevator boots. That'll put him at about 6'0 which is very passable if you ask me.

If he looks half as badass as Ray Winstone and acts half as badass as he did in Mob City he'll already be better than what we've ever gotten, either way perfect casting.

Guys, I FINALLY GET IT: all those terrible, afwul, hideous, unfairly photoshoped [frick]ed up faces from every poster these days isn't due to the artist's stupidity or marketing: it's TRADITION. See how not only pros but also amateurs/fans say "oh, this face looks too real, time to [frick] HIS SHIT UP" when they have to make a poster? it's all part of the training you guise, it totally is. You can't have a decent poster without the face being a really bad photoshop work.
