Set work for Marvel Studios' grand jewel The Avengers is well underway, with a few on-location spots targeted that I'll feel you in on after the jump. Up first, my buddy from Spidermedia, RealIronMan has tipped us to the studios' latest "Avengers Assemble" emblem, with the fellow Avengers included.

This new "Avengers Assemble" logo is apparently the final that'll be used for promotion of the much-anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, THOR and presumably Iron Man 3 movies, and their interweaving of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And will come to meaning when The Avengers assemble summer May 6, 2012 in 3D.

Bringing up those filming location I alluded earlier, also for Iron Man 3, one source tells me he, whose been hired as a guard of the filming site can't confirm whether it's The Avengers or IM3 that he'll work on when partial filming occurs in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, with the start-date that he gave me, January 1st, I assume its for The Avengers.

Hitting theaters summer 2013, don't assume things are too early for Iron Man 3, being that this 'Set Decorating' site has the third installment listed as "soon to be filming on their "New York" Metropolitan area sets" (pictured below).

And I was also tipped months ago that from an attendee, a Marvel Studios rep took a tour of the Experimental Media Performing Arts Center (EMPAC), location scouting for a place in the multi-venue center, located in Troy, New York to act as the secret lab of the unspecified villain in Iron Man 3. The attendee included that no decision was final, but was under consideration.

Great Logo. THe big 3. Have a feeling that RDJ will have a lot in the MCU to do after Avengers and IM3. Maybe Iron Man will become one of the few superhero franchises to continue after 3 films w/o reboots.

@MarvelCinematicUniverse I believe so about them appearing in theaters. And I'm sure they're not planning on using the ENTIRE facility. Theres several rooms in there. They could have just been using the artistic style of is to render something for IM3...Maybe.

@haha Thanks bud) Wish we had a high-res one, but knowing that that's how it's gonna is awesome enough.

So if Iron Man 3 is starting up soon... does that mean that Jon Favreau wont be involved? I mean he's still hard at work on Cowboys and Aliens as we speak.

Guys. This isn't a poster or anything like that. It's just for the toys and shit. And that art isn't the same as the concept art we've seen. It looks a lot better imo.

They must go for a hulk that's closer to "the incredible hulk" video game.Bigger and stronger with leaping and regeneration powers intact.Face wise..TIH(movie) one was fine. They shouldn,t make him a ogre or an ugly brute.

I agree with Justincredible..Cap must be the one who issues orders.

Somebody put an article over which company should work on the CGI of the movie?ILM is industry best when it comes to Techno/robo stuff but Rhythm n Hues did n awesome job in TIH..

@ bullsize CGI on a film is usually done by several companies, not only one. Iron Man 1, for example, had at least three, or the work those three had done on the film was the most extensive and the most notable, so I presume there were even more of those little companies that did a shot or two.

As I understood it, the companies, and I mean the bigger ones, that will be doing the Avengers will be mostly the ones that did previous Marvel Studios films. Meaning Iron man will be done probably by ILM (dneg, Orphanage also did some work on 1 and 2, maybe they get a shot at the Avengers too), Hulk by R'n'H, Thor by whoever does the Thor and Cap by whoever does the CA:TFA, or the most significant work on those two. I remember I read somewhere, in an interview with Letterier or somebody who worked on TIH, that R'n'H and Marvel had created the CGI Hulk model they are very proud of and that will be used in the future Hulk movies. They certainly won't go the same road again to create the same looking Hulk at a different company, it's too much work, time and money.

Nice find MF, but unless your 100% sure that this is the official emblem you should probably specify that with a question mark or something...

I'm not buying this. It's all early concept art for Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America as people have said. Also, there's no Hulk. Whether he starts off as a menace or not, he does become part of the Avengers and Marvel would put him on any promotional material. All the Avengers posters I've seen that are allegedly official are fake. There's never once been a picture of the Hulk with the other three, and that's for one reason, there's no image to use. Hulk in TIH was based on a likeness of Ed Norton's face. Now he's not in it, the facial features of the Hulk will change. Marvel have no images of the Hulk that will appear in the Avengers so there's no art for people to play about with on photoshop. It's easy to get the other three on there because as I said earlier, the images are all concept art for the respective films.
In a nutshell, I've seen nothing Avengers-wise that's official.

Sorry, the actual logo what just says "The Avengers".

I'm with most of you who say it does not look official, it is really weak. Also why is it so low-res if its an official logo? The guy who scanned it can't get ahold of a decent scanner?

gotta stop making it seem like iron man is the leader!
xmentheeight
xmentheeight - 11/26/2010, 12:23 PM
Sorry ladies.....Cap cannot be the leader right off the bat or the start of the movie. As much as people moan about continuity and the source material....Cap taking a backseat would be right in line with the source material. Think about it....this is a dude thats just waking up in an entire new century, I doubt he would be jumping at the chance to be leader, unless they really follow more closely to the Ultimates version, which they may be. Anyway...I wouldnt mind seeing him take a backseat initially, but as the movie progresses...he comes to the forefront as he sees a need for leadership or as the others begin to inately defer to him for leadership. A transition such as that would be a way for him to connect to his contemporaries and see that they value his knowledge, in turn building relationships and making the not only the transition to leader but to the 21st century that much easier.
