Mark Ruffalo Confirms THE AVENGERS Are Filming A New Scene Tonight

After Robert Downey Jr. let the cat out of the bag, many were still wondering if he was serious, and it appears as though he was. Mark Ruffalo has in fact confirmed that there will be an extra scene filmed tonight for Marvel's The Avengers.

At The Avengers press conference today Robert Downey Jr. informed reporters that he and the rest of the cast were to film one more scene this very night. The crowd reacted with laughter, and Downey Jr. responded with, "I'm not kidding." After that he said no more questions and exited from the stage like a boss. And now The Playlist has a scintillating update:

Mark Ruffalo: "We're shooting a scene tonight. I'm not sure exactly where it's gonna go. All I know is that someone came in with the costume and said, 'Here's some wardrobe. We don't know where you're going to be or what you're doing.'" - The Playlist

So, the million dollar question is, what the hell are they filming? Is it another scene after the credits? Could it be a death scene? I just don't know!

Pure Speculation: Let's say they are in fact filming an extra scene tonight, I think the most logical reason would be to include a cameo for Ant-Man. Kevin Feige earlier today hinted that Edgar Wright, who has been working on Ant-Man for over four years would tweet big news soon. Maybe they have finally found their Hank Pym? What do you guys think of that?

CBM's own cbchoice006 has given us a heads up that adds more fuel to my speculation.

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

This is probably just for touch ups or something to fill in the blanks between shots, may be more though which is weird

My Hope:

All the Avengers Assembling, cornering Spiderman after the events of The Lizard encounter (before the Avengers) saying that you are just a piece, we can be your suppourt. Would make sense because Spiderman saw all the fun coverage after the Avengers was filmed in fan speculation, there are reasons it could help both franchises.

@demonhunter

1. Marvel gets a slice out of Spiderman's box office reciets

2. Spiderman and Andrew Garfield are not getting too much momentum this time around, Sony is BADLY strapped for cash as well so they need success

3. Feige said they are working closley with Sony, more so then with Fox and the X-Men.

4. Word of mouth Spiderman excitement gets more people excited for The Avengers

5. Avengers 2 gets a new dynamic character, something to rebring the excitement.

6. Potential access to the Spiderman villians to MCU would open things up huge

7. Disney has been been pushing Spiderman XD despite not owning the rights, its strange

8. Disney owns the toy rights to Spiderman

If they are going to do it, there is a reason to sneak it in now and really expand the May4th weekends box office, would expect the appearence for the American cinemas only though- gives Europeans an additional reason to see it again after the deadline

You know last night the cast looked very different then the characters they play. Scarjo had blonde hair, Chris Evans looked nothing like Cap, Chris Hemsworth and Robert werent rocking there character's hair or beard.

Unless they were in a makeup room for a few hours I dont see how this is true.

Forgot to mention how happy the internet was when it was speculated that Spiderman was joining the team. It could be a situation where companies are seeing the fan reaction, literally half the comments on Avengers YT video was wheres Spiderman

Weirdest part about this to me is Chris Evans' beard/goatee. Maybe he's not in this clip.

@Wildaniel

Hemsworth had hair tied up, he could pull it off. Can use RDJ, Ruffalo, Evans (hairpiece), and Thor talking with Fury about potential risks that exist and seeing Spiderman suddenly appear on screen as a potential member that may join them or something along those lines

Or maybe the cast we saw last night at the premier were all Skrulls throwing us for a loop!

@Wildaniel

Yeah. I think that settles it. This is bullshit. Ruffalo would be in deep shit to confirm something like this AFTER THE DIRECTOR SHOT THIS DOWN. Either way, I don't see why Joss Whedon would lie. And I don't think RDJ would let something like that slip. Not happening. Film is signed, sealed, and in the process of delivery.

But then again... It could be just Ruffalo and RDJ filming. Probably something for THOR 2 or IM3 or The Avengers DVD/Blu-Ray.

There's still time for them to shoot a scene and get it added. Nothing that I am going to get all bent out of shape about.

"n no way, shape, or form will spiderman be connected to the MCU until the rights revert back to marvel, which wont be for a very long time"

Not necessarily true. When Sony and Disney met last fall there was a partnership that was agreed upon that goes beyond just the merchandising rights for Spidey. I don't know all the details, as my friend said they could get in serious trouble if they told me more.

Captain America ended with the gym clip of Cap and the punching bag... Which is actually a scene in the Avengers. They're probably doing a little scene that will be in the next Marvel movie, be it Thor 2 or a surprise like Ant-Man. Sometimes its all about schedules... Maybe Natalie Portman was suddenly available. Who knows?

@Rhino, that's like apple letting microsoft use (and sell) their products for a certain amount of time. It's just not gonna happen lol. Or a better example, that's like letting Michael Jordan play for the Celtics for a few games (back in the day when he played). There are contracts, and "no fly zones" because of them. I'm sure all the movie rights between the two studios (Sony and Marvel) look like a web of shit lol. Yeah it'd be awesome, but it's very very unlikely.

The only way I see Sony playing ball with that is if they get a shit load of the profits, and Marvel is like that paranoid super accountant person who never spends money on things lol. Marvel doesn't like sharing, let alone giving up money (of any kind, especially to actors).

I like Marvel so don't misread this as a Marvel attack cause it's not. (Sad that I have to put a disclaimer on my own comments so people won't misread it and freak the [frick] out lol)

By no means does my post mean that I think they are adding Spidey. My post was just in response to Demonhunter's post that Spidey could never be connected to MCU. Never say never. Just not at this time.

i feel like ant man is too hard to put into this franchise, how can you make a the caliber of these with a guy who shrinks and grows into a giant? i just don't buy it... i bet they set up one of the sequels, probably thor 2 since that is the next in line...
