How can you even put the Avengers and Green Shitfest in the same article?

Oh yeah Green lantern...that movie exists. All I remember of GL is that the movie made me never trust pre-release reactions *we got a bunch of positive reactions before the movie was released but then we got tons of negatives after the embargo was over*.

@Maryboo: Because they're both CBMs and it's a waste of time to separate it into two articles if it's one artist's work?

@MrHulkSmashin

It was a joke.
Sometimes people say these things called jokes to get others to laugh.
It seems comic book fans are not familiar with this.

Green Lantern could have been great. I mean, I liked the movie, but it could have been much better. [frick] Martin Campbell.

@Maryboo: I know what a joke is. The way you delivered yours was pretty shitty.
There's things called being humorous
and being a dick.
Seems you find them synonymous.

Awwwww what GL could have been. Such a wasted opportunity.....

Thanos looks down right awesome! I cannot wait to see in the second or third Avengers movie!

I hope they don't make Thanos' outfit too comicy when they finally show him fully. And GL needs to just be rebooted in a JLA movie when it get's made in twenty years.

Green Lantern was an ok movie. It was DC trying to make a more Marvel type of film which they shouldn't.

Make a Green Lantern more like The Dark Knight & Man of Steel and less like Iron Man & Thor.

Green Lantern was just a lost cause. The big bad was a fear entity yet that was never tied to Hal's character arc...smh

You suck nailbiter. Just because you didnt like the movie doesnt mean you can call it a "warner bros dud". A lot of people liked, enjoyed and even loved the movie despite knowing its flaws. So remember that next time

I still enjoy watching "Green Lantern". Was it the film it could have been? No. But it was far better than most of you make it out to be. I grew up with some truly horrible CBM's (has anyone seen "Howard The Duck" or the Captain America TV movies?) Had GL came out in the early 80's it would have been heralded as one of the greatest. Fan Boys trash talking this movie helped seal the deal of us never getting a sequel or another attempt at this character. Probably the bad mouthing of this movie had an affect on the GL animated series getting canned. We are so spoiled that any CBM'S that's not exactly as we think they should be, we jump online trashing them. Some times we fans are our own worst enemies.

Don't see where it was Campbell's fault, really. You can only work with the script you have, right?

The Green Lantern art work is amazing by Justin Sweet. I'm still gutted that the film just did not live up to the promise.

The concept art for Green Lantern was really good but the film was terrible
Presence1

Green Lantern needed a lot of things to have made it a good movie. One of which was more Mark Srong/Sinestro over Hector Hammond, a better director, better editing and the list goes on and on.

I'm hoping we get just a little more than a tease of Thanos in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film

Those Legion Concept Art, as well as the Green Lanterns' battle against it, look REALLY good. Yeah, the nesting skeletons are a very nice touch, and they can represent the way it feeds on souls better, showing that it has more purpose than just to fulfill the entity's "hunger." That said, Legion would indeed be a way better villain than the movie's Parallax, which truly is a disgrace toward the character's namesake.

@ CaptainPresley - TRUTH.

GL wasn't terrible but compared to the other CBMs that came out around it it falls drastically short. Had GL came out before IM and TDK it would've been well received. But the standards rose and GL didn't catch up with them. I also agree with Levitikus, they were trying to mimic Marvels flavor of CBMs which just didnt work. GL done in a Man of Steel style? Now that would be epic. DC needs to stick to that formula cause apparently its working. Marvel, lighter and funnier. DC, darker and more mature.

Regarding GL, they should have listened to their conceptual artists more. I think they got the green-colour balancing properly in those images -- it was massively distracting in the film. And the way they did his eyes... just awful.
