Does This AVENGERS 2 Casting Call Confirm Tony Stark As Ultron's Creator?

The website, Feature Film Casting, has posted a new casting call for Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it states that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr. is the proud father of Ultron.

Feature Film Casting has a habit of posting inaccurate information with these early casting calls, but every so often they do land a nugget, making it a bit difficult to completely dismiss the info below. Keep in mind, this is the site that claimed Black Widow would be in Iron Man 3. Clearly, Scarlett Johansson made no appearance in Shane Black's film. By the way, the site is a legit casting site, but at times their film plots, provided with their casting notices seem pieced together with public information. Below is the synopsis that they posted with the casting call.
In "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" Loki is gone and the new villain will be the evil robot Ultron, who has the ability to keep upgrading his own strength, making him extremely fearsome. Tony Stark/Iron Man becomes the unwitting creator of Ultron. The brother-and-sister team of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch become the seventh and eighth members of The Avengers. Quicksilver has extreme speed, while Scarlet Witch can cast spells and has telekinesis ability. Black Widow and Hawkeye will be key figures in the film.

What we know so far, from director Joss Whedon, is that Hank Pym (Ant-Man), will not be in The Avengers sequel, but his creation, Ultron, will be. So, how is Ultron gonna be created if Pym isn't there to do it? Well, the most likely scenario is that the brilliant Tony Stark will have a hand in it. Best guess, is that they will borrow pieces of the original Jarvis storyline from the comics. In that, Ultron Hypnotizes Edwin Jarvis, turning him against The Avengers. Perhaps this is plan for the featured film, but we'll have to wait and see.

It certainly would be different. I don't see any other way they could do it. Besides SHIELD creating Ultron.

other than that i dont care who creates ultron, and it seems to be the natural progression of the marvel cinematic universe that stark creates a big cleaver robot!

I wouldn't have minded seeing a movie with Kang in it. Or if they had Kang come back in time and somehow f*cked shit up creating Ultron. (messing around with Stark tech)

Hoping Pym will be somewhere in this, it is just such a large chunk of character development between the two.

Jarvis is actually connected to the first appearance of Ultron, i like the nod to that.

I know people are pissed at Pym not creating him, but i'm of the belief that Pym really needs more points of development than just Jan and Ultron. He's been stuck in this narrative limbo since the 80's, and its hurt the character.

Avengers AI is hopefully a long overdue attempt to boost Pym's status and work him towards a future more viable with fans.

EVERY SINGLE STORY about Pym inevitably involves Ultron in the comics, and i'm kinda over it to be honest. This new scenario works in the context of the MCU, and it'd be awesome seeing Tony so shattered over what he's made and questioning his own worth.

The only thing that bothers me about this is the fact that "Ultron" is the only decent story point that Hank Pym has, you take that away from him and whats he goin to do?

I like the idea of Jarvis and Stark or whatever, but I want something original.

Also, why are they doing a casting call now? It's not even 2014. I call BS.

Without out Pym it had to be Stark. Plus it's an excuse to get him out of retirement.

@JesterTrav, probability manipulation is the ability to alter the time/space continuum.

Guys, obviously Edgar Wright has a nice story. He's been working on it for YEARS. Ans at SDCC he stated that he and Whedon had dinner so somehow Edgar found a way to do the movie without using ULTRON.

Given that they credit Joss Whedon as having directed Thor, I'm not sure how legitimate their entire site is.

It is JARVIS...besides, that would also make a lot of sense keeping in mind it is the best explanation for not using an Iron Man Armada again. Jarvis being Ultron or directly involved in the creation of Ultron not only makes sense but...yeah,yeah it makes sense.I'm down with that.

They should've waited to introduce Ultron after Hank Pym. I'm also a little worried that they might end up with too much going on to pack into one film. Also, what's with the whole "Black Widow and Hawkeye will be key characters in the film"? They didn't even rank in the top 5 of most interesting characters in the first one, and now they're going to get more screen time? I know I'm speculating a lot from a blurb, but hey I'm bored.

I hope there wouldn't be any ridiculous plot twist about Ultron origin.
xcrementus
xcrementus - 7/30/2013, 7:11 AM
I think that's why the movie focuses on Scott Lang instead of Pym. Pym can create the Pym Particles and suit, Lang can steal it, either on orders from SHIELD, or he could go the "save my daughter" route.

That origin is a thousand times more interesting than Pym's, and completely different to anything we've seen in MCU so far. It'd be the first hero where his family is the most important thing in his life.

Add in spy hijinks, that's a movie right there. Just imagine, a shrunk down Lang punching on with nanobots!!

Joss thinks he's God now so he's gonna write whatever the hell he wants. 50 years of Avengers history don't have anything on Joss haha
