I forgot The Wolverine was a comic book movie until the Silver Samurai showed up. Best hour and a half sleep I got in a movie theater since Cutthroat Island.

The climax of The Wolverine felt like a completely different movie. It even looked as if it was directed by someone else. I still enjoyed the movie but the ending almost ruined it for me.

"Oh here's a well written, character focused movie, hope you like i--SURPRISE [frick]ING ROBOTS AND SHIT"

i seriously did not enjoy The Wolverine. It felt as if the plot just kind of moved along with no real connection to anything. Jackman was great as always, but it just wasn't that great of a movie. the villains sucked, and all the supporting characters barely did shit.

Hahah, Silver Samurai can have no film interpretation other than a samurai in a costume. Obviously Wolverine can't stop one samurai because he's wearing some adamantium. Wolverine facing an incredibly determined foe who spent his money building a weapon to defeat him with by his terms is foolish. Do any of you accounts want to see anything other than your own imaginations up on screen?

Wolverine was so gosh damn good until that final 25 mins of nonsense gosh darnit. Really ruined it for me, they could have had a nice Silver Samurai(as an ACTUAL samurai) fighting and it would have been perfect. Even if he still had no kinetic energy powers and was a regular samurai it would have been better than the shlock we got.

I gave Wolvy a pretty harsh review, but I understand what the director was TRYING to do with the tone of the film. But it wasn't balanced. The film is mostly boring, then right at the end, it turns into a cheese-fest of cliche finales. You can basically throw the snake lady and robo-Samurai into the Origin film without upsetting the structure of the film.

I appreciate the way the Wolverine looks, and the tone it was going for. But the silly and often cheap-looking Origins is actually more entertaining.

Yeah what's up with the fat drawings?

@ deahtbyexile, LOL!

I liked the Wolverine. Decent movie. I think the criticisms are harsh because Wolverine has a huge fan base. I thought it was more edgy than origins. It had some forced action. I thought the supporting actors did fine. The script was fine. Like most, I thought the ending and silver samurai could have been better. I wonder if it's fox interfering or just the directing?

FlyingSeel
FlyingSeel - 11/23/2013, 10:57 AM
The movie wasn't bad, until the ending. Everything that happened in that like 5-10min window was so bad. Especially the whole "two hands to activate sword" thing, considering Silver Samurai was holing both swords, one hand each, and they lit on fire.
