Jeremy Renner Is Back In His 'Hawkeye' Gear; Most Likely For AVENGERS: AOU Reshoots

The Avengers actor has posted an image to his WhoSay page, along with the reveal that he's been shooting something as Hawkeye this morning. Is it for Age Of Ultron reshoots? Or, could he be shooting a cameo for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. perhaps?

Jeremy Renner posted the below image about an hour ago, along with this:

"Tues morn. I find myself in costume again. I just can't tell you why. And it still fits! #marvel #avengers #hawkeye"

Now we know Joss Whedon had scheduled Avengers: Age Of Ultron reshoots for January but by all accounts they were set for later in the month, and, it was widely reported on so why wouldn't Renner be able to tell us about it? Well, maybe he just hadn't realized the cat was already out of the bag on that, but there is another theory. Renner has spoken in the past about wanting to make a cameo on Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and that led to speculation that Hawkeye might show up on the ABC show at some point. Now, word is (though nothing official) that they are currently shooting something for their mid-season première on March 3rd -- could that be why Renner is back in his costume? It's a stretch of course, and it's far more likely this is indeed Age Of Ultron related, but what do you guys think?

That would be cool, it would be awesome if he showed up on AOS

Awesome. But I thought they were doing pickups on AoU? Could easily be that. But a cameo on AoS would be fantastic.

If you remember they said early January would be reshoots and Renner was apart of the schedule

I doubt it's for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, although that'd be awesome if Hawkeye showed up down the line.

I heard late January? Anyway, it probably IS for AOU, but it's worth the speculation!

Its kinda sad people put Hawkeye in the position of "the Avenger who did nothing" when he was the reason Loki's plan went anywhere. Seriously from Loki being too busy show boating and screwing with people for fun and the Avengers trying to out snark & asshole one another at every point, Hawkeye was the dude getting stuff done.

Sure it was for the bad guys but he still a good job of getting Loki's plan done far better than Loki himself.

Hawkeye is going to steal the show in AoU when it comes to returning characters. Vision when it comes to new characters.

Well Whedon has been pretty tight lipped about Hawkeye's role in A:AoU. Didn't he say something like "That guy, he's really...I can't say." ?

I didn't like the way Hawkeye was portrayed in Avengers. If Hulk was used the way in which Hawkeye was used it would've been more beneficial for me. When they had all of those talks about the film in its earliest stages I wanted them to have hulk be the teams main conflict before they could even take on Loki. I imagined seeing Hulk cause massive amounts of destruction in the city towards civilians and buildings and it would take the team finding someway to reverse the effects and aim the hulk back at Loki. It would've also been cool to see iron man in all gold armor like his portrayal in the classic comic. The alien invasion should've been more like War of the Worlds where it started from the beginning and made the entire film an entire war battle. Somethings were beyond my expectations somethings were generic but it could've been handled in so many different ways.

AOS is most likely. Which will finally make it worth watching for once.

@0megaDaGod

Why would they show one Avenger on SHIELD if they can't eventually show all of them?? They know the slippery slope it will create because fans will clamor for another Avenger and another.
And comparing the Warriors 3 to the Avengers, really?

You're getting that in AOU Nerd...

@TheRationalNerd

I remember reading something where Whedon actually addressed this, and he said something like we can't have Hulk running around killing civilians and destroying everything in the first Avengers movie. I agree with Whedon.

I wish Hawkeye was developed more in the MCU, it would have been awesome if they filmed his planned cameo in TWS too, but Hawkeye still served his role in Avengers

I think I'll actually care for Downey's portrayal as iron man again in AoU because of how much they've emphasized him being in a different state of mind that we haven't seen him in for a while. From Iron Man 2 - Iron Man 3 we've barely seen anything truly convincing of Roberts performance that shows how flexible the character of Tony Stark is, AOU and most surely Civil War will bring this flexibility to fruition.

@ImKennyPowers

I don't think that's true at all, I would love to see Hawkeye on AOS and it would make sense because he works or worked for SHIELD. Fury made a cameo, or cameos and so did Sif and they were awesome. As fans we will always want more

@DrKinsolving

Lol. Now hold on there, I never actually said that he had to kill anyone. However it would've been cool to see the same fear he he inflicted upon citizens in The Incredible Hulk carried over into the Avengers film. And he was still destroying stiff in the first Avengers film when he was going against the invasion so it still could've worked both ways. If anything we would've got a more epic Thor vs. hulk fight that's for sure.
