Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is heading into its fourth episode now and fans are really not much closer to discovering the real story behind Agent Coulson's return from the dead. But on his show last night, Larry King grilled Clark Gregg about it and even though the actor doesn't come right out and say what it is EXACTLY, he does drop a few more big hints, and uses the word "magical" to describe the real reason he's not six feet under.
"What’s the deal with Tahiti. Tahiti’s a magical place. I keep saying that… it’s where I went to recover after being impaled and as I say in the pilot, it was a spectacular experience, I had a beautiful physical therapist and I read Travis McGee novels all day. But every time someone mentions it lately I seem to go into post traumatic stress so I think there’s a little more to Tahiti than meets the eye. There’s a much darker, more interesting story there. Something much more magical has gone on to bring this guy back to life."
Have fans been right in speculating that Coulson was brought back by magical means, perhaps leading into the more supernatural corner of the Marvel Universe? Well, despite what Gregg says above it seems that even he still isn't 100% sure what brought him back from the grave.
"I know more than the audience but less than the writers. There’s plenty they haven’t… I know a little bit, I have some hints, know from where Joss told me roughly where we’re headed." Anyone still think it'll be the "Life Model Decoy" route? Sound off below.
