"The big moments are sometimes quiet. No lightning, no thunder, no howling wind -- the mist on my face wasn't even cold. Nothing spectacular at all. Just a quiet moment that changed everything. I realized that the system wasn't working. The system wasn't working. That meant my life wasn't working. I'd have to go outside the law."

Who is COMMISSIONER GORDON?
Commissioner James Worthington "Jim" Gordon, Senior is a DC Comics character; he is a trusted friend an ally of Batman. The character first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939), and was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane. First Appearance

James Gordon is the Police Commissioner of Batman's home of Gotham City. He shares the hero’s deep commitment to ridding the dark and corrupt city of crime. Gordon is somewhat skeptical of Batman's vigilante method but recognizes the necessity of Batman and the two have a mutual respect.

Gordon was a police detective when he first met the Dark Knight vigilante. He just relocated from Chicago to Gotham City, where he finds himself in a corrupt precinct. The only ally he found was the Batman to help him fight crime in the streets and alleys of Gotham.

In the following years, Gordon quickly rises to the rank of Commissioner after he and Batman weed out corruption within the department.

After the death of his brother and sister-in-law, he adopts his niece, Barbara, who would later become the costumed crime fighter Batgirl.

Years later COMMISSIONER GORDON, will tell Barbara that he knew that she was Batgirl, and that he was proud of her.

Gordon would eventually retire from the police force after having served for more than 20 years. He remains in Gotham, and occasionally enjoys nighttime visits from Batman.

CBM FIGHT CLUB CHALLENGE

Message to the CBM community:
To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not, please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside. MABUHAY CBM and Godspeed!

This Green Lantern advertisement needs to go away! Lol it's so annoying. Btw I didn't even realize Gordon was even in the other live action appearances. I'm so used to seeing him with the grey mustache and grey hair.

Gordon is one of my favorite characters, and Oldman brought him alive in a way I never thought we'd see in live-action. A brilliant man, Gary Oldman is.

"Batman: Under the Red Hood

You put Batman: Under The Red hood twice, when the first one you meant to put Justice League: The New Frontier... =)

Gary Oldman has to be the greatest living actor, in that he completely transforms himself into his characters. Look at his roles in The Dark Knight, The Professional, The Fifth Element, Harry Potter, and Dracula to see how much he transforms. And he takes each role so seriously too (okay, he was pretty much just wacky in The Fifth Element)and knocks it out of the park in terms of drama.
For Gordon, not only does he look spot-on like Gordon from the comics, but he just brings so much to the character, especially in The Dark Knight.

The person in that picture is known as "Wraith". Commissioner Gordon shot his parents during a burglary spurring his psychosis and current activities.
