On my latest adventure to the local theater, I made my way through the packed lines to take a look at Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's most recent film, The Lego Movie. I was expecting some good jokes, good acting, and overall, some good fun for the whole family, and I got more than I was asking for. Read on to find out why.

From my experience, I can honestly say that The Lego Movie is a beautifully animated and smartly written movie which will appeal to grown-ups just as much the kids. The basic plot, which you can get a general idea of in the synopsis - could have easily led to this being a predictable film, but trust me when I say, it doesn't get much better.

I saw The Lego Movie in RealD 3D, and while it wasn't very stunning, it was still great, and very well worth the extra couple of bucks.

Much like Lord and Miller's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the film is bright and colorful, with amazing graphics and great voice acting to add to it all. From the wittiness of Will Arnett's Batman to the lovable personalities of Liam Neeson's Bad Cop/Good Cop, I guarantee you will have a hard time not laughing. While Channing Tatum's Superman, Cobie Smulders' Wonder Woman, and more don't have large roles in the film, they still bring funny, enjoyable moments for all to enjoy.

Overall, The Lego Movie is just a whole lot of fun, with great humor for the whole audience and a great story which leaves you baffled by how quickly the run time flies by. The characters are fascinating and witty, and while the film adds plenty of development to the characters, it's not too much to take away story or humor, but in fact, adds on to it. I can honestly say I'm highly looking forward to the sequel. So, have you seen The Lego Movie yet? If so, what did you think? Leave all your thoughts in the usual place!

I rate The Lego Movie 5 Stars. Be sure to stay tuned for more news and reviews!

The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

The LEGO Movie hit theaters February 7, 2014. The film was directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) and was written by Dan and Kevin Hageman. The cast features Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie and Charlie Day, as well as Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.

It was good... but not a five star movie. It was a Four Star animated movie and as a general movie I'd give it 3 & 1/2 Stars.

Beware there is a huge twist at the ending. A twist bigger than the Mandarin ever was. So those of you who don't like huge twists that completely change the pace of a film this might not be for you.

Do not underestimate the chances for this movie to be a huge blockbuster. Like this reviewer, other critics have had nothing but glowing praise for this movie's enjoyment value. The movie appeals to kids and adults alike, word of mouth is already strong and families will flock to this movie like bees to honey.

Big win for WB and Lego! With the Trinity on the big screen, hopefully WB will make sure it carries over to the live action Superman/Batman movie and Justice League!

I also liked the reference to The Dark Knight at the end when Batman says to Lucy "He's the hero you deserve" :)
