Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the highly anticipated sequel to Walt Disney Studios' multi-billion dollar Johnny Depp-led franchise, has just added a very familar face to its cast.

Even though the film wrapped a little while ago, Deadline is reporting that legendary musician Sir Paul McCartney has just joined the film in a highly secretive role, a role for which the directors Joachim Rønning & Espen Sandberg and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have actually gone back to build an extra large set-piece for. No further details were provided, but his involvement is being described as an extra scene and not part of a re-shoot. He's now the second musical icon, following Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who played Jack Sparrow's father Captain Teague, to appear in the long-running franchise.

The trade also adds that Disney is fairly high on the film and several insiders have likened its script to that of the original, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Pirates of the Carribean 5 features:
Directors: Joachim Rønning & Espen Sandberg

There should be a PotC comic series.
They went through all that trouble to design 'animated' versions of the characters.
