Yeserday, Jurassic World took a bite out of Marvel by passing Joss Whedon's The Avengers to become the third highest grossing movie of all-time. Analysts have been predicting that it would happen for a while now, but it's finally official thanks to the Colin Trevorrow helmed movie hitting $1.522 billion at the global box office, passing The Avengers' haul of $1.520 billion in the process.

While Jurassic World now sits comfortably at #3, it has a very long way to go before it comes anywhere near Titanic and Avatar (simply put, it won't). It's only the fourth movie to pass $600 million in North America and has earned over $907 million overseas to date. Amazingly, a sequel hasn't been announced just yet, but you know it's coming! What did you think of Jurassic World
