Ever since production commenced for Marvel & Joss Whedon's crown jewel The Avengers, many had been at wonder of what big threat would assemble earth's mightiest heroes. And with the God of Mischief Loki confirmed, while the extraterrestrial Skrulls have yet to be debunked, it seems theres another big time foe for the superhero ensemble flick. And now the good folks over at Latino Review claims to know whothat may be.
According to very trusted always on point sources, Latinoreview has exclusively learned that the other villain in THE AVENGERS is……THANOS! Now I’m not going to spoil how he is in the movie, but trust me when we tell you that he is in there.
Thanos' first appearance debuted in the Bronze Age of comic books, and the character has featured in over three decades of Marvel continuity and a self-titled series. The character's name is a derivation of Thanatos, the personification of death and mortality in Greek mythology. One of his more prominent storylines to date—the Infinity Gauntlet series—portrayed him as a mad cosmic tyrant bent on slaying half of all sentiences existing then in Marvel's multiverse in order to appease the Marvel Universe’s actual (and more powerful) embodied personification of Death in an attempt to win its love.
At last year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Infinity Gauntlet was displayed, which is knowingly the title weapon for the Mad Titan, Thanos. And it was said the prop would be first shown in
Thor, in the all-father Odin's vault, although it was no where to be seen. But it was alos said that the weapon would set up other films' storylines, so it seems
that will be in
The Avengers. What do you think?
