My Opinion of the Watchmen Cast

See my list of favorite Watchmen characters and what I thought about the actors in the movie!
I like so many of you have seen Watchmen and I loved it. However i did not agree with some of the casting(just 2) but i do love the characters and this is my least favorite to favorite.

6.Dr. Manhattan-I never really liked this character. To me he was just a plain hero with no personality. In the movie his character was cast horribaly and he was just not emotional to me.

5.Silk Spectre II-I know this is the only women on the Watchmen team but this character is just plain annoying to me and I wished she had been killed off at the end instead of Rorschach. I think that Malin Akerman sucked in the movie and she was also annoying.

4.Nite Owl II-I liked this character and he was good but I just think that he just to similar to Batman. I think Patrick Wilson was perfect for the role in the movie.

3.Ozymandias-This character was so cool and he masterminded everything. I loved his plan and everything he did to set the plot in motion. The actor in the movie nailed the role and I think that he did the best acting in the whole movie.

2.Rorschach-God I loved this character so much and how he would do everything so badass in the comic and in the film. I was mad that he died at the end and I would have kicked Dr. Manhattans ass for doing it. In the film Jackie pulled
off the role nicely and I think he was the best choice for the role.

1.The Comedian-this character was so cool and I loved what he did and how he was shown in the flashbacks. I loved how he was portrayed in the film and I think the actor did the 2nd best performance.

Well thats my order on the characters.

Ozy out.

Here is my list. It's really hard to place everyone because I'm a fan of all of them.

6. Silk Spectre II - She just is the least interesting and dynamic of the characters. I don't think Malin Akerman can be totally blamed since her character was the least developed even in the graphic novel. I think the actress did alright.

5. Ozymandias - Matthew Goode wasn't the most obvious choice for the character. His build and looks are different. The way that he portrays the character is a little bit in a different direction than in the comic. However, some how the actor really pulls it off. When I first heard of casting I had doubts but after seeing the film I can't imagine anyone else in the role.

4. The Comedian - Jeffrey Dean Morgan probably had one of the trickiest characters to play in that he had to be despicable and at the same time cool and in a weird way likable. He did an amazing job with it and really nailed every moment he had on screen.

3. Nite Owl II - I've been a fan of Patrick Wilson since he played a pervert in the film Hard Candy. He was amazing in that film. Nite Owl couldn't be a more different character but Wilson breathes life into him just as masterfully. He is a very natural actor and always feels very real and genuine on screen.

2. Dr. Manhattan - Billy Crudup was perfect for this role. If you think that he was too unemotional then you really didn't get the character from the book. He is supposed to be. That is kind of the whole point. He evolved to a point where he is almost totally detached from humanity and that includes emotions. He is like a god with no fear of death and he's capable of realizing almost any thought. Crudup captures the detachment and loneliness that was essential to the character. This character is one of the most important in the book because he marked the arrival of a true super being among mortals. The character covers more philosophical debate than any other in the story. By far one of the most interesting characters and the casting was perfect. Priceless.

1. Rorschach - I think it goes with out saying that both the character and the actor, Jackie Earle Haley, are at the heart of this story. Haley was perfectly cast and supposedly fought hard to get the role after a lot of fan support for him emerged online. It's creepy just how much he looks like the character from the book. He literally jumped from the pages.

TheAnswer: lol! yeah, only the theatrical cut has been released in the UK with no date set for the directors cut! Still if you buy blu-rays they are region free and will work but as for DVD i guess you need a region free DVD payer for that! theres quite a few people selling the US version of the blu ray directors cut on ebay so thats where im getting mine! :)

Jackie did the best acting. And him and Morgan where the closest to the book.

X( Saying Silk Spectre should have been killed kinda showed you didnt get the comic for its whole value. Rorschach had to die, no other way to end it. Silk Spectre was horribly cast though.
