I WILL GIVE NO SPOILERS! But I do want to confirm a few rumors, tell you why it's worth seeing, and a few of it's flaws. I couldn't help myself and decided to watch the leaked version.
Let me start by repeating, NO SPOILERS. As a fan, I feel you should all make your way to the theater and watch the actual events unfold firsthand. For the record, it was a douchebag move for someone to leak it in the first place. I hope they get what is coming to them. I say this because I can't imagine how many morons watched this extremely early cut of the film and are passing huge judgements on it, which I'm afraid may damage it's haul in theaters. Yes, I did watch it, but I did so knowing that no matter what I saw, I would still be at the theater to see the frist two showings available regardless. I thought to join a boycott in not watching the leaked version, but then I thought it may be for the better if I did, as I can hopefully counter some of the flak it's already getting.
Keep in mind this version is full of editing errors, poor sound quality, and unfinished CG effects. Most computer models don't even have the skins on them and moments when you know Logan has been injured and a CG healing effect would be there, or actors hanging from wires, lol, things like that. Some parts, like the climax fight, are nearly unwatchable because of all the unfinished CG. So remember this paragraph if nothing else in this article when you hear or read someone smashing the movie based on this leaked version.
Some things I'd like to confirm:
1) Deadpool does indeed become Weapon XI. Now some may consider this a spoiler, it's been in the news circling this movie for over a month and I figure most of you have already made up your minds about it. Well, put your mind at ease.
2) Professor Xavier is in it very briefly and he is played by Patrick Stuart. Also, if this X-Men First Class movie is a prequel, Emma Frost will be one of the original X-Men.
3) Sabertooth does help Logan in the final fight. Ugh! I know.
4) In this cut, my theory on Sinister being present has turned out to be a pipedream. However, The actor I believe to be playing him wasn't in the movie.
5) Gambit doing the funny stuff with the cards, it's card tricks, he is just that good with them. Nothing about this character is disappointing by the way.
6) Dominic Monaghan doesn't play Beak. Instead, he is a mutant who can manipulate the flow of radio and electrical frequencies.
The action is top notch, but the scene with the hummers and the chopper is a bit overdone. We get quite a few very nice fight scene's with various characters. Logan vs. Victor after Creed kills Silver Fox is quite brutal. I will warn you that Agent Zero is a bit out there with his action scenes, but if you think about him in the comics, you realize it should be that way.
Gambit is incredible. Kitsch did a great job and I hope to see him reprise the role in the future. He looks like a natural doing all flips and jumps and kicking Logan AND Sabertooths ass, some nice display of his power. Some of you might laugh when he steps out of the building to confront Logan after blowing him through a wall.
Ryan Reynolds IS Wade. He had all the Reynolds humor and delivery, without the quirky body motions Ryan himself has. And his action is fluid and flawless. Danny Huston adds alot of character depth to the film. Liev nails the lines so well, "I think I can feel your spine.*laughs* Didn't know you had one." The guy playing Blob, Kevin Durand, is even entertaining.
All-in-all, the acting is good, the action great, but what about flaws. The story feels kinda rushed and you will have a few "WTF" moments, like when Logan use's his claws to deflect an optic blast from Weapon XI. Despite those few setbacks, it is definitely worth going to see folks. As a matter of fact, only thing that stops me from saying this is the best movie in the franchise is the fact that it seemed to short. It could have easily had another 30 minutes. It's better than X1 and X3, that's certain, but I think X2 still has it beat.
Well, I hope you enjoyed these words. I enjoyed writing them. Hopefully you will all take my word for it as opposed to listening to some hateful troll. Also, I lied about no spoilers. I have to give you one as I cannot hold it to myself and it'd be greedy to keep it from you all. Scroll immediately beyond the pic to the comments section if you don't wish to know.
SPOILER!!!
SPOILER!!!
I couldn't hold this Easter-Egg to myself, it gave me goosebumps. After the credits finish rolling, we see our title character sitting at a bar drinking shots of bourbon. Nothing out of the norm, right... until he orders another drink... in Japanese... from a Japanese bartender...
