Bet they're kicking themselves for not saving the title "Bad Boys 4 Life" for this fourth movie!
2020's Bad Boys For Life may have been marketed as the last hurrah for veteran LAPD officers and long-time friends Mike Lowery and Marcus Burnett, but with the threequel leaving the door wide open for the action franchise to continue, we all knew it was only a matter of time before the guys got back in the saddle.
Deadline has confirmed that Bad Boys 4 is in early pre-production, with Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to helm from a script by Chris Bremner.
Stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence shared their excitement via the following social media posts.
In Bad Boys for Life, Mike learned that he had a son named Armando (Jacob Scipio) who was being used as a hired killer to take out various targets for his ruthless mother, who had a serious grudge against her former lover.
Armando is ultimately sent to prison for his crimes, but Mike pays a visit to his kid in the final scene and offers him a path to redemption.
No word on whether Scipio will return for the fourth movie, but we'd say it's a pretty safe bet.
