Lionsgate announced today that Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger will moderate a panel on Saturday, July 20th at the San Diego Comic-Con, featuring talent and exclusive footage from two of the studio’s upcoming films THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE (opening November 22, 2013, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth) and I, FRANKENSTEIN (opening January 24, 2014, the film stars Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski and Bill Nighy). Talent from both films will be in attendance for the panel during which the studio will debut an exclusive new trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE and never-before-seen footage from I, FRANKENSTEIN.

Starting today, moviegoers will have the chance to submit questions for panel participants through the films’ Facebook pages (www.facebook.com/thehungergamesmovie and www.facebook.com/ifrankensteinmovie) and Fandango’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/fandango) using the hashtags #CatchingFireComicCon and #IFrankensteinComicCon. Answers to select questions will be posted on those Facebook pages.

Fandango fans have been closely following the entire HUNGER GAMES saga from its first day of production. A January 2013 moviegoer survey of thousands of moviegoers on Fandango found that the film’s follow-up, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, was voted the most anticipated movie of the year.

The one thing I will never understand is how will books like Hunger Games, Twilight, and Harry Potter series get made but comic book series don't. I mean there are only 3 Hunger Game books and they have 4 movies, why can't someone like Flash or Daredevil or Hulk or even more Hellboy films get made because those characters have dozens of books.

@Levi: *facepalm* Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight get movies because they follow a very specific story with a specific end. Plus, they appeal to almost everyone (except Twilight, first Hunger Games movie sucked but the books are fantastic, Harry Potter rules all. Comic book characters are harder to adapt cause they've been around forever and have so many characters, stories and mythologies that its harder to adapt and plus, they haven't appealed to everyone until recently. Plus, studios want to put out other movies besides superhero movies. Hulk had his two movies anyways. He's the hardest to adapt and keep the movie interesting.

Twilight,The Hunger Games and soon,Divergent, are getting adapted because they bring legions of teenage girls that have been unreachable by film studios with traditional male centered genre films.

Sure those girls would see a CBM,or Star Wars, but they did not show the same
fanatical devotion (in the same numbers) to those properties their male fans had.

Starting with Twilight, the studios are seeing largely female fan bases showing up
for multiple viewing of these female driving genre films and that's here to stay.

@JetJagguarrr

All sarcastic comments aside,WB/DC has to know that in light of the agressive CBM moves and news by Marvel and Sony,they can not just show up in San Diego and announce a release date for Man of Steel 2 and/or The Batman reboot without
being blasted as a total disaster by both their fans and critics.

A Justice League announcement or at least other individual films besides Superman and Batman,must be released.Anything else and that ZZZZZZZZZ sound you hear will be the air being let out of the San Diego Convention Center.

It would be the talk of the convention how WB had promised big news for months then left everybody with their d.cks in their hands as Marvel,Sony and likely FOX as well, made announcement after announcement of upcoming CBM's.
