OLDBOY Poster Officially Released

We've seen a couple of low-res snaps from CinemaCon already, but now the first one-sheet for Spike Lee's Oldboy remake has officially hit. Between this and the rough-cut screenings that were held, a teaser shouldn't be too far away.

OLDBOY follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.

Oldboy hits theaters October 11th, 2013.

I have no idea what the poster symbolizes, but cool. The less I know about the movie so far, the better.

Hopefully this is Spike's comeback.

kinda remind me the poster of "Seven"
I'm also thinking they will market this movie as a "similar to Seven" thriller. Not sure if that's a good thing.

@imadick I think the same!! The original Old Boy is just perfect. (the same for Robocop)

Agreed with those who say the original is perfection. Breathtaking really. I love Brolin but I'm still unsure that spike lee was the right director for this, but that remains to be seen. I think Duncan Jones and his knack for almost hallucinatory sequences would've been a great choice.

i reckon it represents a hanging scroll of the asian variety as homage to the original.
I also reckon that will be as close to the originals greatness as it will get.

I liked spike lee's films up to but not including bamboozled and after that I cant remember one i liked...
